well it seems the octy vrs is back to running rough again,,lots of surging after 3000rpm,, none in 1st or 2nd gear,, but 3rd ,4th and 5th are surging/kangarooing alot... i had the car remapped 2 months ago and had my doubts that the map was causin it, so i replaced the n75, cleaned my maf and throttle body, gave her a full service,plugs,oil , fuel filter etc.. and she ran good for a while but the surging has slowly creeped back in.. today i gave her a few runs at only half throttle and let the revs climb from 2000rpm on ,,the car now juddders and hesistates alot at half throttle... :( im kinda running outa ideas here ,,its looking like i may have to demap her or fork out for amother map...

who remapped it? If you think its the map take it back and ask them to look at it

bit late for that now man,,, he only gave a 7 day money bak guarentee :( ,,he was a local mapper herein ireland..had a fairly decent reputation too for mapping... i regret gettin it done now

maybe worth asking him,if he has a good name for himself he'll wont to check his work and make sure its fine as he wont wont a unhappy customer

if it ran well for a while when you cleaned the maf, that might be the issue. Uplug it and see if she runs smoother.

I'm gona giv that a go later and see what the story is

it wont be as fast but if it loses the juddering and surging it may highlight that as an issue. Download vcds lite and grab a cable and run for codes. Could also be map sensor

Iv a normal diagnostic code reader . It's only a cheap jobby ... And this says there isn't any codes stored on my ecu ... Would vcds an a cable be a better option an highlight what's wrong ????

its a very comprehensive app, and you can leave adapter in and have phone on and get heads up coolant temp, boost gauge, revs, timing, intake temp, and loads loads more. £13 is a bargain for that, reads and clears codes so on so forth

i have boost surge during level throttle......seems to boost, drop, boost then drop had it plugged in to a snap on diagnostics and i had no faults at all.

Would an N75 come up on that as i thought it was that. might just be down to mapping though as im not 100% happy with mine.

ive been doing some investigating all evening on this matter... i unplugged my maf and put in my old n75 valve which i had adjusted the wee screw in to reduce boost levels and decrease the surging.. verdict,,the car ran a million times better,,. not as agressive with the boost but smoother..still not 100 percent though.. i then plugged the maf back in and tried again,,and it was the same,,smooth, not as aggresive but definatly better... im putting this matter down to the map i had put on the car.. im currently trying to source some one hre in ireland who can provide a map patch for this issue,,or at least clean up the mess that a cowboy mapper created :(

Sounds like a real shame for you mate. I come across this type of issue all the time at work. Mappers are 10 a dozen mate and probabably 1 out of the 10 actually really know what they're doing. To impress inititially most "cheap" mappers just wind up the boost far beyond any recommended amount - in sure they think this gives them the edge over more expensive maps!

Issue with this is it's a ticking time bomb! Transmission will suffer horrendously, leading to expensive repairs.coilpacks start to break down causing the hesitation under load/boost, the car will suffer knock to dangerous levels and we won't mention how all over the place the fueling will be as your MAF tries to cope.

I'm my experience, guys with laptops that come to your home/place of work should be avoided unless they are using franchised and well known software such as REVO. For all you know that mapper could have done as mentioned on here already- went onto eBay and bought a cheap software file from there and put it on your car! Vauxhall lads know all about this as most of them try mapping their cars themselves via eBay software. Why people do this is beyond me : (

Anyway I'm sorry it sounds like you've been stung; I and I'm sure the rest if us hope you get it sorted and the map hasn't caused any lasting damage.

Iv the boost wound down a bit now with the n75 adjustment an that should keep things safe for a bit until I get another remap sorted ... To be honest I don't even drive the car hard anymore as the surging spoils the drive . But thanks very much for your your post mate
