Removal of chrome trim around bottom grille on front bumper

Hi, could anyone give me any tips in removing the chrome trim around bottom grille on front bumper, I have just joined the club and bought a 2.0Tdi 4x4 Elegance, only gripe with its is the mentioned chrome trim has blown in both corners, I can get a replacement of E-bay for about £35 but was woundering if anyone had any tips on how to remove the old one without doing any damaged to the paint?
