Only getting 41 mpg driving easy VRS remapped. This right?

Featured Replies

My mpg seemed great at first as i came from driving thirsty petrol cars, but im thinking this should be higher.

My tyres are grand all sitting at 30, my air filter is brand new, brakes arent binding and i drive like a granny barely in boost.

Any ideas? Could the air flow meter on intake need a clean or would that not make a big difference? I have most sizes of those security screw heads but not that bloody one, anyone know its size?

Cheers for the help

No that's rubbish MPG. Should be into high 50s if driving steady.

Check for boost leaks first.

My MPG was terrible when the pipe to the IC wasn't connected properly.

A dodgey MAF could cause this issue though. I know AntVRS had exactly the same issue.

Ill take a look at the IC pipes, had a quick juke a while back and they seemed ok but ill give them a more thorough inspection. Think the MAF could be cleanable or are they a replace job?

I have a genuine MAF that I took off the car and replaced to try and fix an issue - but it wasnt that. I forgot to take my original back and get a refund on the exchange so are now stuck with it.

So if you want that genuine Skoda MAF for £25 inc postage let me know. I was going to stick it up on ebay but this is a lot easier if somebody wants it.

It was from a 2006 VRS.

That's a billy bargain!

what tyres are you on? My mpg suffers if it isnt 2.3 on front and 2.1 on back or whatever it is on 205/45/16

Is this 41 on your trip or calculating it yourself. Mine has always read different to what its actually doing. But by around 5-6 more on the trip. Never know yours could be doing the opposite.
