Have you opened up the trumpet diameter on the front part where the trunking connects to the front panel - or are you using the original - if not I don't think you will find much improvement.

Im very anal when it comes to these things and I couldnt have it lol, i think it looks nasty and theres a gap at the front which looks like the pipe is going to flap about.

But if youre happy thats all that matters

I wished I bought a PD160 intake 5 years ago when they were only £35 new.

I agree with Craig, piece of tubing looks botched/modified, the proper PD160 at first glance looks standard.

I think the idea of the flap on the trumpet is to try and prevent water from entering the inlet. I'm sure by removing it you may create a little more airflow. I've also see people smoothing out the insides of the filter box to create a smoother airflow.
