sun blinds for side and rear windows

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if the rear window sizes are the same for the mk2 pre facelift and post facelift octavia? Just looking at some shades on gumtree and thought I'd better check before buying.

Yes exactly the same. I have transferred mine from my last three vRS's.

Brilliant, thanks guys.

Anyone know where I can get the rear sunblind for the octy vrs, dealer says they don't sell them anymore?????

Smithy961, try Vanstyle. I bought the full set from them. It was about £85 including delivery, which was not far off what Skoda were charging for the rear alone.

Not sure if they will sell the rear individually, but you could always email them and see. Rear blind for my car is in two parts, unfortunatley, with a thick line running down the middle of the rear screan. I think the Skoda originals are one piece, but I may be wrong. The only problem I found with the rear blind was it stopped the auto dimming rear view mirror from working, however, the blind itself did reduce the glare from car headlights, just not as effectively as the auto dimming rear mirror.

You could always try ebay!

Rear blind is in 2 sections so prevent the material sagging. Having a one piece would mean that over time with heat etc the material would stretch and sag.

Depends whether you have the blinds that clip in or the roller blind. I have the latter; far better. Bought from parts department at my Skoda dealer.

dealer wanted £120 for the side ones.

Cheers fin I will have a look. Is the auto dimming mirror standard on 10 plate vrs? Didn't know I had one!!

Still an option as far as I'm aware, certainly on a 10-plate. Never used to be even available on the vRS, pre-FL!

If you have the traditional flick-down catch on the mirror, then it's no auto-dimming :)

Auto-dim model looks like this:

Ah that will mean I'm a standard mirror man then s?@t never mind. Something else I'll have to add I suppose. Cheers for info/pic.

sun blinds fitted, here's the rear window

With my rear blinds I've squeezed them together as much as possible - to help narrow the line down the centre - which can irritate if (when!) you look in the rear view mirror.

i have had these on both the VRS both pre and post facelift, I have the roller blind on the rear and that works really well.

Nice one! That white octy on their page is the nuts!!!

I bought the blinds from vanstyle for my estate for £85 inc postage, and they fit easily and look great on the rear passenger side windows and rear windows, but I leave them off the boot window. I just don't like the line down the middle in my rear view.
