Part number of 06H145710C

Now i have the one on the right and ive heard the skirt part of the valve (stupid design if you ask me) sometomes can melt causing sealing issues.

Reason i'm posting is when my car is cold i dont rev it past 2krpm occasionally the turbo comes on boost and it sounds like the dreaded whistle and will do this when on boost as the engine temp comes up to normal, when its up to temp and has been a good 5-10 mins then i give it (when needed) full revs and it sounds perfect, got that dreaded feeling its melted or deformed slightly!!! :(

Are both of those the piston type mate? I still have the original diaphram type I inspected it and still ok at 77K. The 'cold' whistles could just be poorer oil flow to the bearings before engine is at operating temperture.

yeh both are piston mate.

Grizzle. Just buy the G revision valve rather than the piston type. I have taken out my D rev and fitted the G and the car feels so much more eager. The D doesnt make as good a seal, as it is a lot shorter than the G and it doesnt have a rubber seal around the end. I have two Gs, one fitted to the car and one spare just in case. But the new Gs are more reliable and the diaphragm is less prone to tearing. A lot of peole are switching back to the G now. Plus they are only £35 to buy

I have the G revision,it gives a nice blow off noise

if you have a remap you might need the piston type though

Im stage 2+ with my G and its working better than the D ever did.

Interesting thoughts guys, my G (now in the bin) never had a split or tear but was advised to go for the new D and now the C

il be getting a remap soon so il keep with the G and see how it lasts

i know this is a bit of an old thread revival but where can i get the dv valve for £35

bit of a dilemma should buy the revision c or the revision g? :wall:

G is the newest and should be the strongest diaphragm type.

06H145710C is the new and current part.

Ahh 06H I'm getting mixed up with the 06F. I'd still go with the G valve.

I got mine from TPS

Confused myself now. Am i correct in thinking 06H 145 710 G is the latest revision as G supersedes Rev C?

Sort of.

The D replaced the original C rev (the one with the rubber diaphragm) - the former was from the Audi S3 if I am correct, the rev G then replaced the D. The C is pretty much a D without the plastic skirt around.the end of it. I'g for a G.

I have copied my post from another forum Grizzle

Hope to clear things up for you.

The Revision C was prone to splitting and has been replaced by the G revision. The early G revisions had a few that split but they released a newer G revision that is more robust and so far none that I know of have failed.

When the C revisions were failing people (including myself) went to the D as it was the best solution on the market at the time. Some went the Forge DV route but for a simple plug and play the D was the best. Now the D revsions have been known to leak, as was proved by RTech Nick. The end of the piston does not have a rubber seal so air can leak by, whereas the G revision has a seal on the end and makes a better seal. The G is designed for both the K03 and K04 GTi variants. The D is from the Audi S3.

Just to confuse you the D has now been replaced by a new C revsion, which is basically a D without the cage around the piston.

Which one to chose will be up to you, as people swear by which ever one they have fitted. Having had the D and G fitted I prefer the G, as the car runs smoother and feels more powerful throughout the rev range. Plus its cheaper by quite a bit and cars running 340bhp are running the valve without any issue.

Hope this makes it a bit clearer for you happy2.gif

bit of a topic revive, but today i fitted the revision g diverter valve and the car feels much better less peaky and definitely smoother and according to my torque app im holding about 4psi more boost. So im a happy bunny hopefully it will last a while , but it was only £38 from the dealers so no hardship to replace again!!!!!!!!
