depends on which petrol and which disel. if it's a 2.0 170bhp diesel i'd have one, a 1.4tsi petrol woth dsg no i wouldn't, a new 1.6tsi yes i would if reliable

If Skoda see this type of response from the major player of global Skoda forms, i can see them saying that there is no market for one in the UK.

I havent voted because it would depend on the engine options, trim. bodykit..general looks and build quality

So far...Im not impressed. Quality is not up to that of the Octavia..perhaps thats deliberate.

It also looks dull compared to other cars in this sector........So ..No I wont be buying one

Nope. Definitely not for me, the quality and finish just aren't up to par & from the reviews in the press & as the saying goes I'm Out! I have amended my vote as such too.

If they are going to lead people on with advertising that would set expectations with models with names like "rapid",

they may at least do what it says on the tin !

Otherwise its much egg on face....might as well call it the Skoda Extra Value otherwise

Plus its actually a nice chassis size to put a vrs spec into, and far more desirable size for a sports chassis than a big ol' Octavia .....IMO.

Bring back the midrange punch of the old Fabia vRS with DSG and more poke then yes I would buy one

The car is simply to fill a hole in the lineup, and will be a budget saloon. I just don't see the market for a vRS version, no matter how many people on this forum say there is one.

Needs to have a market outside of the membership on here.

mags like auto express have talked to skoda, and skoda say there will be one...

I talked to my local (and suprisisngly knowledgable!) skoda salesperson, (also asking about citygo vRS) and he says, there "definatley will be a rapid vRS , and definatly WONT be a citygo vRS.."

I agree they could all be wrong.... but i see no reason to disbelieve the people talkingt to skoda, are getting consistant lies from them...

The dealers may very well want one, but again that doesn't mean there will be one. The original Fabia vRS didn't sell that well outside of the UK (which is mostly why the Mk2 vRS is a petrol), so again they can't just make a model because it may sell well here. If anything it'll just be a badging exercise, on a 1.4T.

To me, a Citigo vRS is more likely, as VW are pretty likely to be bringing out the up! GT due to the response of the concept (Skoda's Citigo WRC - while awesome looking - was clearly just a concept).

If it's the same level as the current level of the Fabia, then that's fine.

Don't forget, every single one pictured so far has been a pre-production model.

I have no preference on engine, although a dsg would be nice and not to phased by fuel type either, I would wanna see one in the 'flesh' if it was ever to happen. i haven't seen in person the trim of an Octavia but the Fabia trim suits me and my uses.

The Mk2 Fabia is a step-up from the Mk1, but is still scratchy, hard, plasticy interior.

The Octavia is much better, visibly lesser than a VW, but there is a massive void between both the size and the perceived quality of the Fabia and the Octavia.

How come everyone seems to get so up tight about "hard" plastics, bemoaning the lack of "soft touch" ? Do you people drive around fondling your car interior or something? :wonder:

No, just that the interior of the car looks like it came from a Tinywongylinglong from the People's Republic of China, not a company that's under the wing of dast biggest car manufactuer unt dast world!

That dash is nasty compared to the current offerings from skoda and others.

Thing is, the car is priced too highly for a cheapy dash to be acceptable.

If it was a £6k-9k car, then you'd let it go, but it's not.
