Skoda Bolero with Parrot CK3100

Featured Replies

Hi all,

We have just purchased an 11 plate Skoda Octavia which has had a Parrot CK3100 bluetooth unit fitted.

My wife and I both have iPhone 4S's and have found the volume coming through the Bolero speakers to be far too low to hear.

There seems to be tonnes of people with the same problem but I have not found another one with a Skoda Octavia.

The parrot FAQ says that it should be used in conduction with 4 ohm six watt speakers.

Does anyone else use this bluetooth kit and if so, have any issues with the speakers in the Octavia?

I am thinking of taking it to a hands free specialist to have a look at but wondered if it is something I can look at myself.

If the CK3100 is not the best solution, what system is everyone else using?

Thanks very much.

Ewan.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

I take it you've adjusted the parrots built in speaker volume control to full?

The parrot uses its own internal amplifier, and in effect disconnects the headunit speakers during a call. This is one of the bad points of the parrot system, it should be possible to get someone to reroute the parrot audio output through the phone input on the Bolero meaning the headunit controls the volume. I did this with a nokia kit and the difference was amazing, however replacement with the OEM setup will get better results with full integration and control on the Bolero itself.

I have a Parrot 3200LS and the output of that goes through the Stream head unit. Therefore you can control the bluetooth volume on the phone and also the speaker output volume on the head unit. If the call is too quiet then simply turn it up on the head unit.

I have the mki9100 which like yours works independently of the stereo through the SOT (Sound On Top) lead.

I presume that Whilst your in the call you wound the volume to max, doesn't work unless your actually in the call.

I can have a conversation at 80mph and hear the caller loudly and relatively clearly above the wind noise.
