Ive just been out and checked the 4th gear thing for you. On the clock i do get 110mph in 4th at 4100rpm, but like you said, minus 10% speedo over read error and theres your 98mph ish. Sorry about that.

110mph, on your private track of course! I could never test the actual rpm at that sort of speed, because of course I've never ventured over 70mph (cough x2)!

As you can see by the above posts, I'm not happy the the dyno run whatsoever! :thumbdwn: When I get my dyno run next week (after the remap) I'll make sure they set it up right, and wont except anything but a pretty smooth curve!

With the lower revving in 6th tho - does it still pick up ok? As on motorways I find 6th going up a little incline at < 70 mph not a problem, but it won't accelerate particularly well as the revs are too low for that.

I'm guessing a remap will help that along a little though :)

I generally never drive below 70mph, so I wouldn't know! :rolleyes::rofl:

No in all seriousness, it can stuggle up hill below 70mph, but I just drop it down a gear for a couple of minutes until the sunday drivers move over! ;)

Can't wait for the remap... :D

Got to admit they look a bit strange particularly that big dip around 2.7k....

Does your Fabia have any modifications?

Mines does the same thing on the dyno run because of clutch slip. Its had a remap, intake, filter and turbo back Milltek exhaust and sports cat.

I've attached the plot, you can see torque dipping at 2700rpm just after it hits its peak of 300 lbf-ft.

The torque drops down and the power also dips at the same point, as the clutch stops slipping, the power comes back on and crosses over the torque line just over 3000rpm, where it goes up to its peak of around 170bhp.

I can feel the same thing happening on the motorway when accelerating in-gear.

I believe my car is standard, however I am the second owner.. IMO I don't believe we are having the same problem, My car feels like is accelerates at a constant all be it, it does tail off towards the end of the rev range. If you can actually feel your cars' power going away and then coming back again, it'll almost definately be your clutch slipping, start saving... I'm having a remap in a couple of days and I'm already thinking I must save for a new clutch!!

Yeah, the plot lines look the same, but I think you would notice a slipping clutch. Have you tried flooring it in 6th gear about 65mph? You should see the revs jumping up for a little bit and then recovering if the clutch is slipping.

It could well be something as simple as wheel alignment or balance needing looked at. If its not all perfect, then its possible for the car to momentarily climb out of the dyno and create the peaks and dips as well.

My car was doing this before we pinned it down to being the clutch. It was also suggested that a faulty Mass Airflow Sensor was a possible cause. They can apparently cut off and come back on again under cetain conditions. Do you have a cotton oiled air filter in there?

It could be a number of things, but I would definately get it checked out before getting the remap done. If the same thing is happening after the remap, you might never know what the cause was and could also struggle as far as warrantys are concerned.

Before going back to where you got the dyno run done, it might be worth going somewhere else, getting the wheels checked and getting a dyno run done there. Gives you something to compare against.

Hope that helps.

Is this a voice from experience?

I pretty sure my clutch doesn't slip but I will try accerating hard in sixth at 60ish.

I don't know if I could put the remap off another week, I had it booked for some time... I very happy with how the car drives at the minute, and am pretty sure that the graph is at fault and not my car!.... I Hope

Who's doing the remap? Can they not check it for you?

Graham at Celtic Tuning Services. I'm sure he'd have a look for me if I asked, he seems to be a sound enough fella.
