A few questions/checks

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I must confess, I have been away from Skoda upgrades since I sold my last Octy and ran a mid-life crisis Mazda MX5 for a year or so.

I am now back in a wee Fabia vRS which needs a few things sorting (not least the flippin CEL light - still working thru that one (see my other thread about Coolant Sensor!)..

anyway, my wee car needs the following things sorted (advisories from the MOT) and I wanted to run my ideas past you lot as you are much more up to date on what and who is best...

Rear suspension bush on front worn - I take it this will be the Console Bush or the rear bush on the front wishbone?

I was thinking about going for Powerflex bushes for this, and is it worth getting the front replaced at the same time as the rear one? Awesome GTI look to be a decent price for these.

Oil Service due

Rear brake discs/pads need replaced - was gonna just use Euro Car Parts for these, get the standard Pagid stuff for the brakes.

Rear exhaust silencer out skin holed - was thinking about getting a mufflerectomy to fix this - thoughts?

After that, I need to get the dents removed from my driver side front & rear doors where some scroat decided to kick the car when it was parked at the train station :(

Then I guess it's down to some more mods...was thinking:

Rear Anti-Roll Bar - Whiteline still the one to go for? Where is the best place to source these?

Remap - I won't get into this argument as everyone has their own opinions, but thinking Shark maybe!

Suspension - what is the ride like with Eibach springs and standard shocks - a bit bouncy? Don't want to go too low, but a 20mm drop or so wouldn't go amiss.

Thanks for any help guys, much appreciated.

Replace the rear ones with Ibiza Cupra ones, they're one piece.... Awesome Gti sell them.

Rear Anti-Roll Bar - Whiteline still the one to go for? Where is the best place to source these? Jabba RARB is meant to be the boy, alot of people still stick with Whiteline again from Awesome Gti

Rear suspension bush on front worn - if you decide to do the upgrade yourself on your own drive then get the powerflex ones. twice the price but half the hassle. Trust me. The Cupra ones are a bugger to fit if your not in a well equipped garage.

Rear brake discs/pads need replaced - I haven't used Pagid before and only replaced the pads but it's straight forward.

Rear Anti-Roll Bar - Personally I have a Jabba one. I heard they were a little thicker but nearly twice the price.

Suspension - 20-25mm seems to be the normal drop with most springs. If you have the money why not coil overs?
