  • Aaaaaaand breath...

  • I don't think Wardy was disputing any of that, a PD140 on a Stage 1 (without any other changes (turbo)) will safely max out at about 175bhp. I have the same map as Wardy had before his hybrid turbo w

Snap!!! and yes OUCH!!!!

Simon

Yes you nailed it ,it is ouch

mine is due in Sept too! but just checked and mine is only £195.00? didnt realise it was cheaper for the FL?

I think it will be 6 month tax this time!!!

Shame you cant pay monthly...

My mate brags about his road tax free car... ahem a Fiat 500!

Criky how come the tfsi vRS is so much more than Tsi vRS

I taxed mine this month £195 for the year

More efficient, the revised TSI unit fitted to the FL. Simple as that really.

Plus the lovely government continuing to increase the tax levy - that won't help either! :|

And I thought my reminder at £215 was a touch steep.

Mind you my old Discovery 3 was over £400!!! so the Octavia is cheaper than that. What is annoying is I only do about 5-6k miles a year!!!

They used to do tax-stamps, so you could "save" for it monthly. Not sure if they still do.

Don't the post office do a road tax stamp book? You buy stamps of certain value stick them in a book for the year and buy road tax with it?

Are you guys talking about vehicle excise duty? ;)

******* stings doesn't it.

That'll be why I think about changing the car every June.

Nasty polluting things them petrol ones :hi:

is there a web site that lists all the tax brackets and what it is for any particular car?

my 1.6tdi is 125€

the 2.0 tdi is 200€

the 2.0 petrol is 300€

Yeah, look on Parkers.co.uk for your very car. It'll give you everything you need to know.

What about a regular savings account? Just set up a direct debit and away you go. That way you'd get interest on it, too (OK, so it's only £4 but hey!)

Just got mine. £30 for the Octavia :hi:

Not much difference is it - I thought the cost of my last tax was 245 quid? Still heavy hitting on the old wallet tho. Saying that, I looked at a Mazda 3 MPS before the Octy and the tax on that was 400 quid!

My last one was £195 for the year

thing is, id be happy to pay the rates if the money was used for road repairs etc so they were up to the standards they should be. Think i find a new pot hole everyday! :@

1.8 TSi £195 apparently - same as last year

Yep OUCH , due end of month, I only did 4k in the last year to, wish they would put it on fuel so you pay for what you use , not much room on it now being seriously overpriced as it is tho.
