As above, are they exactly the same size? I've got a 56 plate sport, with aircon and not climate.

Will I need a different surround/dash panel?

if you get the octavia version they are exactly the same size, however depending on the age of your car you may have to upgrade the can gateway as well to avoid a battery drain issue.

Bolero slots straight in, definately check the CAN gateway as you may need to swap that out to avoid battery drain. You will also need to program the new gateway unless you buy it pre-programmed.

You will also need to move the earth pin for the CDC in the multiplug that connects to the rear of the stereo. Plenty of posts on here about it or look at

Isn't the Bolero unit the same size as the Columbus, therefore needing the different surround?

Depends where the Bolero has been sourced from. Mine was a straight swap (Mine came from an Octavia). However if I had a Superb then I'd have needed a new fascia for the Bolero to accomodate.
