columbus postcode search

Featured Replies

am i right in thinking that the columbus sat nav has a 7 digit postcode search or does it need new firmware to get this, ive got a dec 2010 unit to go into my octavia vrs when it turns up on sept 1st and iam hoping this has it already on it,any advice would be great

I'm sure you can type the post code into the city field

A December 2010 unit (mine was built late November 2010) is just after the V7 maps came out, so it should have 7 digit postcodes already on it, however some cars delivered in 2011 still did not have V7 maps installed! (V7 is the oldest version that will accept 7 digit postcodes)

If the unit does not have V7 maps installed then it is a pretty safe bet that the firmware will need updating also, as installing V7 maps on old firmwre will still not give you 7 digit postcode search.

Clear as mud now? :giggle:

can anyone help me with this,or will i be able to take it to skoda to get this done as i dont want to brick my columbus, been told they will do a firmware up-grade and load latest maps on does this sound right

Skoda do not offer firmware upgrades, as when hooked up to their rig it will say the latest version is already installed. The only way is DIY, many have done it on factory fitted units without problem, most issues occur with retrofits purchased from Ebay.
