What Horn can I get?

Thanks "anewman"!!

I appreciate the link to your thread... Ha Ha I bet having the two Stebel horns fitted blew the cobwebs off anyone who got your way!

I got some wire rated to 27amps from halfords while I was picking up the horn... I also tried to get some spade connectors but they only had female ones that were rated higher than 15amps so will need to pick some male ones up from elsewhere.

I think I'm gonna have to get one of the plugs off to see what's going on inside! I'm still struggling to visualise what needs to go into what... are you saying that as it has two connectors going into the original horn, I can remove one and tape it up and just use the other to make the connections to the new horn?

The new horn didnt come with any plastic spacer... just a relay and a fixing nut and bolt. once I get the old one out I will have a look to see what I can do to mount the new one.

My father in law is pretty handy at fabricating stuff out of nothing so I may employ him to help me out :)

Unfortunately I haven't got anything to read the fault codes so I'm not sure if the car is throwing any faults... to be honest I've only just decided to start having a go at fiddling with the car myself! So it's all a bit new to me still.

This site and the comments I've recieved have been really helpful already though!! Big Thanks to Everyone!!

Cheers Mate

Greg

Often wondered how a Bedlam telephone siren would do .Works off a pp3, so 12v should kick out a din . Rated at 105dBa on full blast.

For the spade connectors, the main thing that matters is whether your wire will fit in so you can crimp it. They're usually colour coded, red, blue, yellow (smallest to largest).

ahhh ok... I saw that they all had different amp ratings and I assumed that as the horn requires 20 amps and the wire I got was rated to 27 amps that I would also need a spade connector rated to at least 20 amps.

You can tell i don't do much of this cant you :notme:

I'll check out those links now
