Rear Anti Roll Bar for Fabia vRS?

Featured Replies

I remember reading a thread (now archived) from cheekymonkey about Eibach developing a rear ARB for the Fabia/Polo/Ibiza chassis.

Any more news on it?

At the moment, Eibach only offer the front ARB.

Archived thread now transferred to this forum here.

Very interested in this too. Remembered the thread and dont recall seeing an update on the rear arb.

I want to fit just the rear as i am hoping this will reduce understeer a bit.

Ditto! ;)

I've heard nothing recently - it may be worth giving Nick a ring at Jabbasport as he was the one who mentioned it to me. I must admit, now that I have lowered the car, the understeer really has reduced dramatically - I can easily tuck the car into line with a lift of the throttle/dab of the brake. I think a rear arb might make my car a little too twitchy now. However, for someone into trackdays/someone with standard suspension who wants to improve handling whilst not affecting ride, this does seem like a good way to go...

Has anyone checked on the eibach site? Might be worth making enquiries there too...

Will be having a chat with Nick & the rest of the team @ Jabbasport this weekend @ GTI International, to see what the news is.

I have recently fitted a strut brace (front upper) which has improved the steering feel & have yet to fit my Eibach springs. Was thinking about going for either Koni or Bilstein shocks after that, but a cheaper alternative would be anti roll bars.

A combination of all of the above would possilbly make it ideal for track days but too harsh for everyday use.

Jon, how effective was the strut brace alone? I've one coming on Saturday, the car's completely standard otherwise.

Improves the feel of the steering (more sharper & weighted), but doesn't eliminate understeer or roll.

Does the car drive noticably better with it on?

The steering feels noticeably better and more positive going into corners, but it doesn't cure the large amount of body roll and diving/lifting under braking/accelerating :)

Presumably front and rear ARB's could be combined under the same "Suspension - Other" as far as insurance goes???

Sorry to hijack this thread - I'd also like an update on the rear ARB when it's available. Does one come on the Cupra Seats or not?

Bit of a wierd one.. for some reason, the VAG group never put rear arbs on the front-drive cars.. but do on the 4 wheel drive ones, so no :(

Im getting my Front Lower Strut Brace hopefully fitted by JBS next thursday so hopefully it'll make it even more direct without affecting the ride "too much", the front upper didnt seem to have any effect on ride quality for me, it just seems more direct and composed, I couldnt imagine taking it off.

Once I have been to JBS im going to enquire about the Koni/Eibach setup this should eliminate the pitching/roll on corners, and mean I dont have to splash out on a 312mm upgrade straight away, not until I get my strange !00 mph wheel jiggle sorted anyway!
