Oil Pressure Warning Light.

Featured Replies

Can anyone please tell me where exactly the oil pressure sensor switch is on a Fabia 1.4 Comfort.

Im getting fed up now as ive just put our car in for an MOT and service at an independent garage and im £600 lighter and within 20 miles the oil pressure warning light came on.

It was NOT on when it went to the garage and neither had it come on before.

The garage changed the oil and filter again just to check and then asked to change the sensor switch at my cost of £55.

I agreed reluctantly and they then phoned to say we dont think its the switch but possibly a blocked pipe or something ??? and they now want to flush the engine and do another oil and filter change yet again at my expense @ £180.

Im getting a really cheated feeling here now.

The oil they have put in is 5/30 fully synthetic ( is this too thin ?) they have told me its the correct grade.

The light comes on after about 5 miles or 15 mins local driving and stays on until the car is left for a few hours and then the same thing happens.

PLEASE can somebody advise me as i would like to change the sensor switch myself as i cannot afford to pay them anymore money.

Regards in advance for any assistance.

Lee.

Don't ever go back there. They are mugging you off mate.

£600 for a sevice??? I'd expect a cambelt and waterpump supplied and done as well for that price.

£180 for an oil change :o Find a good VAG independent in your area.

AMD at thurrock would be way cheaper than that and they know what they are doing

there.

If your oil is wrong then you will bu99er up your engine sooner or later.

It's the VAG way.
