tyres 215/40 r17

Featured Replies

anyone running 215/40 r17 on a fabia vrs runnin 205 profile at the mo, just wondered if 215 still fit the octy spider rim, and if they dont stick out wider than the wheel arch

215 is a better profile in my opinion, but for the time being, I am actually running 205s. I will be looking for 215s eventually.

so 215 fit on octy spiders then

I've used 215 's but went back to 205's as they rubbed my wheel arches as car is lowered. Also get better mpg on 205's with no loss of grip??

I had 215's on my octys without issues.

I have 215's and Spiders. Also lowered.

Do you have any problems with rubbin the arch and stickin out wider than the wheel arch

I've got 215s on the Comps I'm running. No arch rubbing, no protrusion from the arches either; though its not far off! Good fit, and the stretch is so minor that the edges of the rims are protected against stone chips and so on.

I previously had some Comps on 205 and constantly had to touch up the rims (ooh err)with paint to cover stone chips, highly annoying.

I had 215s and I didnt like them, they looked to wide for the Fabia from the back, went back to 205s

I have 215's on mine. However recently I've been getting uneven tyre wear however I think this is due to failed track rod ends. I have to say I've ran 215's for about 3 years now with no issues.

Had no problems yet, only been 3 weeks though.

I've got 215/40/17's on mine and the car is a lot more stabkle at high speed with the 205's on it picked up every little rut in the road which was quite unnerving at times.... my car is lowered but on;ly by around 30mm so don't get any issues with rubbing as its not low enough.
