At the weekend while fitting my CAI to my 3 year old Octavia VRS i was surprised to find a wiring loom that exits the bulkhead behind the battery box has been subject to some serious 'chaffing' by the battery box cover.

The black insulation tape had been worn away and the actual cable insulation had started to be worn. I have wedged a piece of soft packaging type material to separate the surfaces and suggest others checking this loom as it could be a potential point of future failure!

Hopefully mine is an isolated case.
