Why replace the tyres? You're throwing away 95% of the rubber because the bit on the edge looks funny!

Swap them around, sort the alignment and they'll wear themselves flat.

The tyres that were on were asymmetric (I think that's correct) and the nosie from them was a little loud. Didn't really have much choice...

Assymetric tyres can be swapped side/side, directional tyres can be swapped front/back. I've had saw-toothed tyres on a Nissan I had, no way would I replace the tyres because the edges of the treadblocks were feathering.
