First Bong?

Featured Replies

24? I'd be sweating at that temperature! I couldn't stand that, especially at night!

That's air temperature as per a baby monitor. Hit 29 a few weeks ago and was still mid 20s in the morning!

Thermostat set at 20. ;)

Where do you lot live, the north pole?! Even without many hot spells it's been fine without any heating since April.

In fact we've even considered fitting a ceiling fan or getting a portable air con unit.

Lol

Heating is left on, but temps haven't dropped low enough inside for it to need to heat anything

I therefore have never seen the need to turn it off.

Currently 22.2C outside (in the shade) and 23.9C inside, here in sunny Guildford. Even have the windows open today. Shorts and T-shirt weather.

More like 15 here, now cold, wet and very windy

Your all posh or soft (or both)! 15 degrees is our 'on' temperature in this house. Its the combination of growing up with no heating, not being bothered for being too hot and being a tight Yorkshireman! That said the electric fire might be allowed on for an hour or two on Christmas day if its cold!

Couldn't agree more! My thermostat is set to 16 during winter, that gives me 19C in the bedrooms and about 21C in the living room. If my thermostat was set to 24 it would be close to 30C in everywhere else other than the front hall. It's currently approx 10C outside at the moment and the bedroom and bathroom widows have been open most of the day.

Im much tighter than you...my thermostat is in the living room! Windows open here too and are for most of the year, nothing beats fresh air especially in the bedrooms.

Hottest day of the year so far today for Aberdeen 25C, just goes to show how random and meaningless 'record temperatures' of any extreme are.

'Aberdeenshire' was beating the temperature records for a week in March, just before the 'Lambing Snows' arrived in April.

The morning after a 22 degree celcius day in April.

Hmm our thermostat is outside the back door. You set the temperature you want the rooms to be, the system then works out how hot the radiators need to be to achieve the desired temp in the house considering the outside temp.

16 degrees again here today, but feeling cooler in the wind

Hmmm, if you're in Kent (as per the Location info under your pic) then methinks your temperature gauge no workee!

Or is your garage heated?!

Or perhaps it's Kent, South Australia

It'll have been taken when the car was at a standstill. They don't read properly until they've had some air passing over them for a bit, the gauge in my Fabia will drop 2'c within 90 seconds of driving away if it's been stood in the sun. Plus Clio and Corsa thermometers always seem to read high anyway in my experience :-S

Yeah, heat bloom. But 16 degrees worth??

Maybe taken abroad on a nice holiday?

I was in Italy last week and I've got a picture of it being 32oc at 11.55PM! Walking around Venice with it 35oc in the shade was pretty hard going though! Getting back to sunny old England was a shock!

Still nice and warm here - having to open the car windows before setting off etc. :) Nice and sunny too.

Edit - Just got back from the car, and it's still 16c out there.

Drizzle on and off all day yesterday. 16 was the mid day temperature :(

I expected something very different based on the title of this thread... :giggle:

me too

That was after an hour and a half on the motorway

On driving out of the underground parking:

Was an Opel Corsa though  (what a silly car).

Not first bong but first sighting of Gritters out salting with air temp above freezing but road temp already below.  Winter starts moving into the north east of Scotland.

Got my first bong this afternoon on the way out for petrol.  Momentum - £1.55 a litre now 😲
