Tyres losing pressure after refurb

Featured Replies

Had a close call yesterday when I went straight on negotiating a highish speed bend. Luckily nothing happened but myself and my passenger had a brown pants moment.

Checked tyre pressures as the front felt 'soft' and they read 22 and 27. Bear in mind this was after some fastish driving on a hot day, so I reckon they were a good 15psi down.

I'm thinking they have a poor seating after s poor refurb by the dealer who sold the car to me...

Yeah I reckon so get some leak detector spray and stick it around the inside and outside edge that'll soon tell you

What was the pressure that you set the tyres at after buying it,

&

When was the last time you checked the tyre pressures before yesterday?

What, like a washing up liquid bubble solution?

Stick them up to 50psi just like a Fitter would to seat them & then let them down to the chosen pressure.

See if they seat.

Best get your own gauge.

22 + 15 = 37

LOL - oops, missed a bit of the sequence there.

I think as the tyres were hot the 22 reading would have been higher than when cold, therefore 33 cold (preferred setting) minus 22 hot would equal approx 15psi down (man maths :))

Sanding dust on the bead can sometimes cause an issue after a refurb..

Yes, just as good, just paint it on one side at a time, also round the valve.

Yeah or you can actually get leak detector spray
