Keys locked in car

Featured Replies

Sorry I know this is done to the def but for good reason the results are removed or kept in pm's only.

Coming to sell my fabia vrs soon but only to realise I have locked the keys (yes both as they were together with the alarm code thing) on the boot which was then shut and bob's your uncle.

Can anyone offer advice on how to get in with no damage or is it more cost effectivde to get rac or aa or skoda to do it (I am not a memeber oif any)

Or which window is best and cheapest to smash.

I guess in smashing the rear qtr I wont be able to open the rear door anyway due to deadlock and there being no 'knob' as such.

Thanks in advanced anyone.

P.S. Skoda fabia for sale lol

Try a local locksmith, the sometimes have flat bars which they put down into the door next to the glass

Failing that you need a car thief.

How much is a new uncoded key? just so you can manually open the lock with the key?

I dont know, but would it not need to be cut to the correct shape?

There is a key place online that cuts your key by picture and its like £9.50 delivered dont know if thats any use?

Other than that, smash a window will be cheaper than a key from skoda id imagine

rac or aa will be able too help

Rac or aa if a member.

If not, break the window.

any how to's on replacing a window?

Don't break the window, local breakdown will help even if not a member. I paid £51.60 to get into my car after having locked it whilst working on the window regulator, keys in the ignition, house keys and wallet in the car! The car deadlocked itself too but they managed to quite easily airbag the door where it meets the seal to get a flexi pipe down and unlock the car using the inside central locking buttons.

The rear quarter window isn't as cheap as you'd think.

£160 for the part....I wouldn't break it!

Thought it would be a lot cheaper than that!!

Skoda can cut a key by chasis number :) shouldnt be too expensive, usually the dear part is coding but you only require the cut key to open the door then use the others after

Put some rubber gloves on, push on the window and pull down! Might pull the window down enough to get somthing in to open a door,

try it on the rear window with it being manual might go better?

Other than that i'd smash a window and replace it from a scrap yard.

If getting a key cut isn't too expensive, that sounds like the best option.

However, a potentially cost free option is to get a friend who is a member off AA, RAC etc to call on your behalf and get assistance. My AA policy covers me in any vehicle, so if a mate I'm travelling with breaks down I can call them out on my policy. Worth a punt I'd think.

rac or aa will be able too help

I wouldn't bother with the AA - I locked the keys in my MX-5's boot and they couldn't get in - spent around 90 minutes trying.

More likely to get a local locksmith to sort you out.

Well , after much fun and games, i smashed it.

Managed to prise the doors ajar enough to get some wire in but only had 6mm copper wire which just bent.

Also managed to dent to roof and scratch paint work (not very impressed)

And not a wire coat hanger anywhere in the house!

So after taping and hitting the be-jesus out of the window with a brick.....I had to get a hammer and proceed to hit for another 2 mins

BLOODY STRONG WINDOWS!

Still, it helped to vent my frustration a tad

New part from Skoda is £72.60

Hunting around scrapper looking about £20-£30

Will phone up about key cut tomorrow to compare.

What an absolute FARSE
