Any tips for sticker removal?

Featured Replies

As the title suggests....

I want to get shot of a couple of old ones, probably been there since new!

Thanks

Adam

Heat with a hair dryer until pretty hot, and peel off, the sticky residue comes off easy with wd40 which after you can wash off and wax over

just good old petrol it wont do any damage to your car. if you spill petrol on your car when filling up it never does any damage does it.

I'd go with the hair dryer approach, much less aggressive than petrol and it will soften the glue on the sticker much easier and allow better removal.

Cheers chaps, hairdryer it is. Petrol too expensive haha

Unless they've been there for a good few years or you live in a sunny climate they should just peel off if you take your time?

I assume these stickers are on glass.

If so, just peel them off when they are warm. I then borrow my wife's nail varnish remover (which is basically Acetone) to get rid of any sticky residue.....works very well.....although I wouldn't use the stuff on paint!

Yep glass and they are very stubborn!!! Heat looks like the answer

There is stuff in halfords its 8 quid a can, cant remember name of it but 1 of boys bought it for his van stickers and glue stuff was flying of,white can with bright green writing on it i think

Cheers mark

Probably not an issue, but if they are on the rear window and you're tempted to scrape 'em off remember to be careful around the heating lines - they are only silver and can be damaged....

Yeah thanks, that is why i asked, ideally don't want to scrape them off.

Cheers
