AMAZING wax that turns into water MUST SEE

Featured Replies

I have a bottle of Collinite 475 past wax, not used for a few months, now upon retrivel from storage there is water into, about 1 third of the contents is water and 2 thirds wax. Shall I pour the water out? why is there so much water in the bottle.

I would think that it has separated, just shake the bottle to remix

I think

probably not water either - even though it may look like it

as auric says mix it back in

DON"T DRINK IT

As above give it a good shake it separates. If it doesn't go straight back together stick the bottle in some warm water for a bit should help get it to mix back together

475 doesn't exist

476 is a paste and water in a paste is a no no.

845 is a liquid wax and in my 7 years of using it all of my 4 bottles and current bottle has never seperated.

I have the 845 sorry, (i googled to check) it's a paste wax comes in a bottle with red lettering/logo

If paste and water is a no no i'm confused now whether I should shake the bottle or pour it out..

Just shake it...as Grizzle said its a liquid wax, yes it says paste on the bottle but it I know of no other substance called a paste that pours!!

oh and mine seperated last year and is fine just shuck up!!

it's water right?

I would say water is a possibility but more than likely if a chemical of some sorts

Collinite 845 Insulator Wax gets thinner if you shake the bottle

It's probably just an emulsion of wax suspended in liquid.

Thinner no, but better dissolved so more like a liquid sure.

You'll have to shake it back together. I doubt it's water either.

If you want it less liquid shake it the leave it a few hours so the solid starts to precipitate out again.

Yes I know  :giggle:

so what's best if i want maximum durability

I already have collinite 915

I mean in response to 'If you want it less liquid shake it the leave it a few hours so the solid starts to precipitate out again.'

Leave a few hours or not?

  • 2 months later...

I'm afraid I'm gonna have to resurrect this topic.

I've just taken delivery of my first ever bottle of Collinite 845.

Even though I've read all the above conversations, I was still expecting a LIQUID wax...but it is, in fact, almost a solid...not `separated ` you understand, almost solid.

In order to get it out of the bottle would it be an idea to stick the bottle into some hot water to, hopefully, turn it semi liquid and therefore easy to get onto my cloth?

And also, I suppose, it would be a good idea to keep it indoors rather than out in the garage?

Many thanks.

Mike.

Mike

Shake it really hard and it will turn liquid

Thanks, Chris.

What about where to store it...better inside rather than outside in the cold and damp?

Lastly...on the bottle directions it says, "Surface should feel lukewarm to the touch"...do you know whether that means the surface of the bottle or the surface of the car? (If its the car...gawd knows how you'd achieve that!)

Regards.

Mike (confused)

Never read that

As long as its not too cold

Just use it

I bring my waxes in when its consistently below 5C

Sorry but I physically laughed out loud...

Thanks again, Chris.

845 is a liquid wax it has a solvent as a carrier.

Take it inside or put the bottle into a warm cup of water for 5 mins it will thin out then give it a right good shake it will turn a thinnish liquid then apply ... THIN i cant stress enough it needs to be thin.
