BLT ASV

Featured Replies

Hi L33 LHO,

all that gunk i had in my egr area, i didnt remove but just scrapped all the gunk out using a long screwdriver, but how does the mess get there, took me hours to scrape out still get a little bit out every now and again is it caused by not letting the engine idle after a fast run or short journeys, i have now since cleaned all pipework out now. that egr looked very oily, i used a bit of aviation gasoline, which cleaned it very well.

Maybe a stupid question, but, does taking EGR etc off to clean not bring up any dashboard lights etc? If not.... I know what I'll be doing this weekend!

I've been running an EGR delete on my BLT for around 3 years, only negative was the EML on the dash ( now mapped out by Shark ) Had a flat spot at 1800 rpm with EGR fitted, spray a can of 10K Boost through the inlet and that will clear it out.

Am I able to remove the EGR with standard tools and refit it without having to renew parts? Eg gaskets etc.

If so if there a guide to remove it? On a BLT if that makes any difference.
