Well just hoover the dirt out of your existing one then :P Green recommend cleaning their filters every 7.5k miles so Skoda is probably a bit optimistic with its 40k change regime! :rofl:

The volume of air going into the engine itself is constant - ie. no matter what the turbo is doing, between the turbo and cylinder the volume of air doesn't change, just the density. The volume of air going into the cylinders is constant, rather than being a fuel-air mix, therefore getting a diesel to run "too lean" is rather tricky, as they do that by design...

The volume of air going into the turbo *does* increase, which is why the air intake and a clean filter is a good thing (personally don't think the VAG filter is that restrictive if kept moderately clean). But the volume of air coming out of the turbo is constant.
