Hi everybody!

Featured Replies

I'm currently looking for a mark 2 VRS Octavia, not sure which one I'm going to get yet though.

I am thinking about both and have a price range between £4500 and £5500 which all depends on how much part ex I get for my mgzt. Would I be better getting a younger petrol with lower miles or would 100k miles on a diesel still be worth buying?

I'm looking forward to finding one near Worcester soon and then joining in on the forum.

It's an age old dilemma and very subjective. Would you rather have a 20,000 mile petrol that's been driven in first gear on unadopted roads to the supermarket and school, or a 100,000 mile diesel dolly which has clocked up smooth open road mileage?

100k on a looked after diesel is nothing to be concerned about.

All comes down to what's the best car, all things considered, at the time you intend to purchase.

Gaz

Hi everyone, I have just purchased an 2006 Octavia 2.0 litre diesel 140 bhp auto. At low revs it makes a noise like a siren on a police car. It runs fine and there is no power issues. If I accelerate hard it kicks out dark smoke from exhaust, only under hard acceleration as far as I am aware. I know nothing of mechanics and would appreciate any advise before I take it back to the Skoda dealership I purchased it from. Apart from this I am very impressed with it.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome aboard.
