The vRS Blackline issues, the new octy, AND the NEW MODEL SCOUT!

Featured Replies

It's not like you can't have them, just pay more money and add them to your order!

If you want a Blackline with curtain airbags then just spec up a normal vRS instead and pay the extra.

Thats exactly what I did...together with xenons, maxi dot, black interior, sunset glass, spare wheel, auto lights, silver rails, variable boot floor and parking sensors. It cost £1k more than the blackline, but well worth it! :hi:

Blackspaven are you a policeman or fireman or paramedic buddy?

Fireman. :)

Curtain airbags drop down on the side windows (like curtains) to protect the passengers head in a side impact. The side airbags are in the seat to protect the passengers body in a side impact. (I think!)

Curtain airbags are a £310 option on every model except the Blackline (and L&K where they're standard) and shoot out from the A & B pillars.

I think all information on "future models" has to be taken with a pinch of salt. Skoda don't want stock left of old models but at the same time they don't want people jumping ship to another brand as people tend not to buy new cars every year. BY prmising something early, then delaying - it can be a tactic. Sure people get "upset" when something fails to arrive at the time, but they then think "well I've waited this long".

I'll echo what has been said above, the vRS will not be seen before the GTI. VW won't let Skoda (whom they already see as stealing sales from VW, remember every Skoda sale is seen as a lost VW one) steal any thunder. Mk7 Golf before Rapid/Octy 3 and GTI before vRS.

By future models, I meant the resale of the Blackline in years to come, not versions that'll pop up in the future.

Nice that you're speculating about the golf when what i've been told by Skoda was stated as absolutely concrete as to when the models are coming out, no question of exageration, hyperbole or guesswork. Can't tell some people I guess!

OK, so we accept the vRS will come after the GTI, but when does the GTI come out?

If I said the vRS is coming out in June next year, then pick a month before that! It's not that long to wait.

My local VW dealer said that he's speculating the base model golfs are coming out Jan/Feb next year with GTi's to follow a few months later, but nothing definite yet. The info he's working on is the same as everyone else from multiple sources including the motoring press, but the timeline DOES make sense with what I was told by the big cheeses at SUK if the golf MUST come out before the octavia. The Geneva 2013 show is early March, so given that it's being lauded as the debut for the mk7 GTi, it all tallies with that.

Thanks, but that's not what I'm asking, I'm asking when the GTi is out, disregarding what we think we know about the vRS date.

Fireman. :)

its a bit off topic really just wonderd if you were a police crash investigator or someone with inside knowledge that curtain or side airbags are that much of an advantage, but as a fireman you've probably seen enough accidents to draw an opinion of the subject,

Cheers

Yeah, pretty much. As far as i'm concerned, if they're there, they can possibly make the difference!

No brainer for me.

Okay, if you think you know the GTi will definitely come out before the vRS, then it will be out at the start of next year.

Why the hostility? I just accepted what seems to be the expectation that the GTi will be out first. I'm asking a simple question (that I wished I'd not bothered with, I'll go off and Google it instead) which is "when is the new GTI expected to be out".

Don't bother answering by the way, it's too much like hard work, you'll no doubt trot out yet another cryptic message.

Well don't be a d1ck and ask a question that that's pretty much self answering and in the same line be a bit patronising by saying 'what we think we know' when i've given you info from a person who absolutely know's the score better than any one person on this forum or dealer then. It's obvious that if you think the GTi will be out before the vRS and i've said that SUK head office have given a rock hard concrete date of June then you've only got a few months in which the GTi will be out. If you think i'm making it up, don't believe me or refuse to accept it, then you're not gonna get an answer from VW, Google or anyone else cos VW don't have a release date for the GTi, and there's nowhere you are likely to find one as dealers don't know, VW customer services don't know and the motor press are just speculating. If you're deciding which to buy, then it's also irrelevent as you can piece together that by your rationale the GTi will be out before the vRS and therefore it'll be out from sometime now until next June giving you about 9 months on which to decide.

It's not rocket science,

Can't you see how annoying it is when you no matter what you say, regardless of the source, people can't work things out for themselves or absolutely refuse to think it can be true based on their own guesswork. Good luck on Google, please report back to confirm what i've just said. B)

But you're right that it's like hard work. Refer back to the last paragraph to understand why. Perhaps you'll just ask the same question for a third time when it's been answered to the space of a few months twice already.

You're the **** fella, for the entire forum to see. We only have your word that the vRS is out in June, it might be, it might not be.

You're the **** fella

F*ck me, i'm back in the schoolyard! :D

Unbelievable that no matter how reputable a source you're given, you still won't have it unless it fits with what you believe, so it's irrelevent what ANYONE says on here isn't it?! If you f*cking read the posts thoroughly, you'd have seen that I said the Geneva motorshow is when the MK7 GTi is to be debuted and that ties in with it being released BEFORE the vRS IF that's what you believe. Would you like me to say it that third time as well?!

I personally don't give a $h1t about what comes out when as i've no intention of buying one, i'm just trying to inform those who ARE interested, and I have to contend with dullards like you.

Absolutely ridiculous.

You've got some anger issues, usually on this forum, people ask a question, and if they asked a stupid question then they get a ribbing or usually a link to the answer, in other words be friendly. You seem to be one of the type of guys who likes to get into an argument, with someone on the internet.

I've no idea what sparked you off, I asked a simple question and you got sarky and then chose to insult.

Like I said, on this forum for everyone to see.

The question wasn't stupid the first time, just the third time after it had already been covered twice before. Perhaps that's how it works in your part of the world.

How depressing that you can't even see that and how annoying it actually is.

On this forum for everyone to see. B)

i hear that the new VRS and GtI both come with rattle and dummy holders to stop them being thrown out of the car !!!!!

It's a magical car.

Sorry, wrong event.

;)

Thanks, but that's not what I'm asking, I'm asking when the GTi is out, disregarding what we think we know about the vRS date.

Volkswagen won't be releasing a Golf GTi - it will be a Golf GTI same as it has been since the mk1 :giggle:

I have been looking at a new VRs and it appears yet again that Bluetooth is not available without the DSG multi steering wheel option this is putting me off another VRs (had 2 so far).

i know i can retrofit but why should i have to take the time to do it. i fitted a parrot to this one.

Still can't see why this airbag thing is an issue with the Blacklines. Its a car with a set package at a reduced price. If you like it and its a package you like, buy it. If you're not happy with it then don't, just spec up another VRS to make the one you want & pay the extra.

Its a simple choice.

So I bought one.

^^ Agreed. I would like to see them standard, but understand its a budget car and am happy to pay for them...it's still cheaper than a golf.

These blacklines will come with maxidot too if they have sat nav.

Not according to the Skoda brochure and info from dealer. Maxidot only comes with DSG and not manual version of blackline. I don't believe it can be added as an option as they are fixed spec.

Yup, as I stated in an earlier post, there are absolutely NO options available on this model except the colour.

Maxi dot comes with sat nav, look in the fabia brochure and it says that amundsen comes with maxidot. I'm almost certain they won't fit sat nav without maxidot its part of the system used to give the commands.
