DSG slipping?

Featured Replies

Pardon the title of this thread, but I am wondering if my car is developing a problem, or if I am just being paranoid.

Basically lets say I am making progress and the car is changing up from 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th under heavy acceleration

Sometimes, the engine sounds like it is slipping slightly just after a gear change has occurred and progresses up the rev range. I've had 2 of these cars and driven in a similar manner and this behaviour is not something I've seen before.

It doesn't sound like a massive slip, but it is definitely there.

DSG box was serviced at 40K and car has 49K now.

Is this something to be concerned about?

I don't know if mines simular, but I've only got 15k on the clock...

Basically I was in 2nd coming out of a round about, and I squeezed the throttle a bit more to overtake as it opened to a dual carriage way.

it went to 3rd, then jumped to 2nd again, but it took forever to even out the clutch and gears to engage it fully...I guess I either didn't floor it enough for the full kick down to function, or it was just matching RPM to the correct gear?

Best way is to either drop it into sport or drop a gear with the paddles, this prevents what your saying happens. I think it's because your at a point with the gearbox and the Engine where it can't decide what to do. I find I'm using the paddles more every day. It's called Fun
