Just got hold of a ko4 turbo, manifold, downpipe, injectors, Maf.

What else will i need to complete the kit? Also when mapped what type of power should I expect? It's standard other than that...

I'm new to all this so sorry if my questions seem dumb!

you will need to make a dp to fit it

you will need the s3 lcr fuel pump

intake pipe to fit the maf and turbo

remap ( 260+bhp )

you will need a front mount intercooler

uprated brakes a must !!!

uprated suspension

Lol dp is downpipe? I've got the ko4 one. I've got a full s3 with bam in the garage for breaking... I've also got a 255ltr fuel pump I forgot to mention.. would a turborevs smic do the job? Want it factory looking you see :)

Also are uprated pads n discs enough? It has grooved disc and mintex pads fitted

yeah uprated pads will be fine

would be better to swap the whole engine over and loom and ecu ;-) no need for remap then to start with and a much stronger engine

no turbo revs isnt good enough

but if you swap engine and ecu just swap the twin sidemounts over

It's a mates car but I've got dibbs on bits as he using my units...

I need intake pipe.. what happens with my breathers that go into my standard intake?

Hmmm I might be Intrested when I'm sorting it. I'm just having trouble as my turbo went, so I fitted a ko3 on it. It goes well but has a boost problem. Keeps hesitating etc.

Been offered the ko4 stuff cheap its just if its worth the hasstle and money

you fitted a K03 or a K03s as if you only fitted a K03 no wonder it is hesitating and having boost problems?

on what a VRS or a 1.8t octy?

The VRS is a K03s std and a Golf or Octy 1.8T is a K03. The K03s provide more boost and gives car the 180 bhp over the K03 which gives the Golf and Octy 1.8T only 150bhp.

Yeah 02 plate octy vrs, hmmm looks like its been messed with :( so am I better just getting a ko3s and a map or ko4 it? Is it worth the extra time and money?

Get a ko3s hybrid then you dont have to mess around as much

How do you hybrid a ko3s? My mate can rebuild a turbo if needed.

You get a ko3s stock turbo and send it to the likes of

Turbo dynamics

Turbo technics

Cr turbos

And they chop and change parts on it... Bigger comp wheel etc to make what they call a hybrid turbo capable of bigger bhp... Think i read 250bhp somewhere

Also the dp wont fit as the s3 lcr tt225 have twin cats. The vrs has one.

The k04 is not a cheap thing to do.

Looked at it and thinking again but will prob end up hybrid instead.

As clive said swap it all.

Engine looms and the lot if going that way. Youll still need a custom zorst/dp making up tho.

Failing that just get a k03s and fix car as it sounds like you dont really have everything needed yet ne way?

Sorry minor thread hi jack, I've a k04 off a Leon Cupra R sat on my bench at work. Obviously I also have my k03s on my vrs. What kinda cost is involved in making it into hybrid if you supply both turbos? Ta.

as its not just k04 internals some use rs6 wheels etc etc

Ah I see, I may as well flog the k04 then. Cheers.

My hybrid has rs6 wheel 360 degree bearings etc
