Dump Valve

Featured Replies

Right i want a very loud atmospheric dv, any recommendations ???? seems to be a lot of confusion on here over these

You can fit an atmo dv but if you want a remap with it fitted you'll get the CEL light.

Safest route is an upgraded recirc dv and a CAI....a lot louder than normal although I admit not as loud as an atmo dv.

Are you talking petrol or diesel???????

If petrol, then you cannot get a Atmospheric cump valve for the VAG engined 1.8T models......Just won't work with the engine management software!

If you change your engine management, go IHI etc etc then you can fit one!

If running std, then go for a Forge 007, will sound better than std and not make you engine go into limp mode every 5 min!

WRONG!

Again with DV, i have had a Atmos DV and your engine does not go into limp mode nor does it have waring lights (pre remap) however! it does affect performance engine has more lagg and turbo pressure is lost easy, when i changed back to a recir my 1/4 mile improved by .5 secs thats a significant diffrence...

i still have my dump to atmos DV kicking around my one goes in the intercooler pipe, i have a my old pipe that i cut up and the plugs for the orginal DV pipes that you need to block up... make me a sensible offer and i send you them if you want

Joel

oohhhh! I stand corrected! thought it was a` big no no!

Whats right and wrong are one thing...

AS joel says, it will work, but he lost .5 of a second, so while they work, they don't help much...that said the audio is sometimes more important than the propulsion.

I think on the whole they are regarded as more trouble than benefit.
