Skoda Customer Service

Featured Replies

Has anyone ever contacted Skoda Customer Services about a technical problem and what was the response?

I have a problem and my local dealers service dept last week, told me that he thought there was nothing wrong and could not do anything to help.

I have posted about this problem before, clutch vibration a bit like having a vibrating B&D sander attached to your foot, and after 30 years of driving, I have never had a problem like this before.

It's the flywheel, not the clutch I fear. I had the car in at 1000 miles and now at 7000 miles. Its is really getting on my nerves and contacting Skoda direct is the last resort (but I think it will come to nothing being the cynic I am).

I had a drive in a new Citroen C4 yeaterday and the clutch was perfect (although the gearchange was stiff compared to the Octavia).

I am seriously pi*s*ed with the attitude and inference that the problem does not exist.

Tell teh dealer you'll go to SUK and Trading standards if they don't buck their ideas, that might shift them. Or take your business elsewhere if you can. Any Skud dealer can do warranty work.

I've had my fair share of dealings with Skoda UK Customer Services and found them very helpful and understanding.

They will open a case for your particular car and will ask you to take it into a dealer to be checked over.

Considering your current dealer is being unhelpful then you'll have to take it to any other franchised Skoda dealer.

Skoda UK will then liaise with the dealer (and also Skoda Technical Support) to understand what the fault may be. They will also have much more knowledge about any similar complaints.

I've found you have to be firm but fair. Tell them that you aren't happy but also make it clear you are willing to do what it takes to get this fault at least acknowledged and then fixed.

Ring them now: 08457 745745, option 4.

Good luck!

Hi

I have found them to very good. They sorted out my injector swap no problem and no fuss so I cannot complain.

New injectors on a car that has done 115k is dam good IMO, albeit they might have gone wrong, but I am sure there are cars that have done a lot less miles and had this fail and had to pay

I think a full main dealer history really helps in they're decision making process

Also like to say my dealer is very good (Progress in Letchworth) and never have hassle and the odd occasion when things are not perfect they sort it out willingly

Thanks

I have found them very helpful with the (very) few problems I have presented them with. Only wish I could say the same for VW Financial Services Customer Services ..........

I found them good - Moaned about dealer quote of £ 130 to replace LED indicator on wing mirror!

They and the dealer offered a 30% discount out of goodwill.

I didn't bother with their offer in the end as advise off Briskoda and genuine part from Rainworths via ebay fixed it.

Still, at least they bothered to try and help rather than F off its out of warranty.

Anything to do with a clutch they wont be interested, (from personal experience)

try

My experiences with Skoda customer services haven't been bad all in all - it was the dealer that was the sticking point when having technical issues. Skoda depends on them to tell them what's going on and if the guys working on your car would have more of a clue on an Austin Metro then you're in trouble.

Myself, my dad (former mechanic) and a backstreet garage all diagnosed a faulty steering rack within 15 mins of taking a look (separate opinions). Many many visits and a wasted set of track arms later the dealer was still scratching their heads and as such SUK could only go on their say so. When they finally agreed it was the rack at fault (like I'd told them on day 1) the problem was resolved.

Throughout both my complaints (one for failed A/C compressor and the other for a failed rack) customer services were helpful, pleasant and on the ball, much more than can be said for the dealer involved who meant well but were clumsy, poor at keeping me updated and lacking in technical expertise.

Mine has been terrible not technical relating, money relating. I had a Fabia vRS mk2 which the problems were endless:

5L of oil in 8.000mile

New engine

2x New turbo

New fuel pump

New brake light sensor

Wiring loom problem

Ipod cable not working

Rattles.

Without the car for 40+ days and 300miles travelling to and from the dealer.

Its safe to say i rejected the car. However with the fabia not being at all trustworthy i asked for a full refund or a replacement vehicle. A 'FULL' refund was not possible due to me using it ffor 8,000 miles my argument is that the issues started from 700miles and i tried my best to trust the car. So this left me with the only choice but to have a replacement vehicle but i did not want another fabia due to me knowing a polo gti with same issues and a number of fabia vrs. So i asked for a octavia vRS tdi, which was agreed and a finance package was also agreed which i would receive a contribution of £2700 towards the extra cost of the new octavia which did not have dsg, metallic paint, tinted windows and black wheels which the fabia did have. I waited a few weeks for the car to arrive at the dealer to which i received a phone call stating your car has arrived at the dealer, however Skoda are now saying they wont pay the contribution. This left me in a difficult position. I accepted the car and the charges and sent a letter to the executive team at Skoda customer care to which 5 weeks without a reply. I was at goodwood festival of speed and spoke to a nice young lady who rang the executive team who then got in touch with me.

I explained my dissatisfaction and the fact I have not "really" had any goodwill gesture at all from skoda from the extra costs i have incurred from them selling me a faulty vehicle. I explained this would be my last purchase with them due to them promising one thing and doing another, i also explained we had spent as a household £50k+ with VAGroup to which the reply from the executive team was "we will not invest in your future purchases" now to me this shows Skoda are only in for there new customers and are not bothered about keeping there existing customers definitely have left a sour taste which is a real shame as i have grown to like the octavia especially now i have paid extra for the windows to be tinted and wheels to be powder coated.
