I'm 20 and will be ****ed if I have to pay that come renewal! I'm hoping less than £1000.

insurance is always a killer, i'm with admiral and just coughed up £480 this year full no claims, 17yrs ncb, defo shopping around next year, you just got too.

Their rates aren't bad. You don't say what policy you took, but that's not bad. Mine on the basic policy is about £185 FC, £95 EXCESS on a 1.4TDI 04 plate. But I've got more years on my licence than most on here have in years of age, and massive NCB.

I'd be aware of Hastings extras - like an extra £10 on windscreen, and a fee for chips( ON SCREEN).

( and if you phone up to find out more -it's an extra £10 to do the deal over the phone )

As I keep on harping on to folks on insurance quotes- have you got some elderly relative with a decent record to add to the policy. It'll knock a lot off .I'm worth over £100 to my daughter on her policy by adding me to it .

Went from 400 to 240 with quote me happy without reducing cover and getting a lower excess to boot. :-D

You have either claimed on your insurance or the other party has admitted liability. Which is it?

You dont have to declare a section 59 on your insurance... Its not a conviction. Just a warning.

Darren - seek independent legal advice if you feel you have a strong case and the will to do it, but for now you will have to use the usual comparison websites to remain insured to drive. I never used to get a decent quote off Adrian Flux so gave up some years ago.

Do check the excess you're paying. The usual £100 is compulsory, but adding more can really bring down the quote and may be that if you do have a bump, the excess you pay will be less than the difference between the original quote and the price you pay. I've a total excess of £450, which sounds a lot, but actually means that if all goes pear shaped it will cost me an extra £200.

Check around for "ordinary" companies. There are lots of agents shouting "Special low rates for young/old/female", but actually they are more expensive. RIAS (good for over 50s; i.e. me) quoted £300, but the Post Office gave the same insurance (both use Ageas) for £150.

Would agree with Hastings and not the best in paying out even when you have a no fault claim. If you do make a claim they will try and pass you on to a third party to handle the case. But these are mostly interested in hiring you a car and to make as much money off your claim as possible. It took me almost 6 months of pure hell to get my cheque from Hastings even though the other insurance admitted full liability. With Insurance cheap is not always better and any insurance not matter the price is only as good as what they handle the claim and pay out. And even complaining to the Insurance Ombudsmen which you have to wait 4 months before they will even look at the claim.Hastings just have a search of the net about the complaints about Hastings even Simon Cowell had a problem with them and they have been fined a lot of money for misrepresenting there Insurance policies.

1st Central charged me £264 this year with 5 points for an SP50 on my ticket. Standard car too.

im 24 and paid £600 fully comp with 4 years ncb with admiral (fabia vrs mk1)

You can feel how you like but potentially your insurance isn't worth the paper it is written on.. it is a small cosmetic change but an insurer does need to know about it, an decent insurer wouldn't charge any extra for it, but the insurer does need to know, simple as that really.

just got my insurance qoute off adrain flux not happy its gone up from £450fc to £1007 and this is after my crash that i was told will be 100%the other sides fault

Some companies to add in a "loading" for non-fault claims, as well as for fault claims. :(

I would check what the insurers regard to be a modification (I did hear some insurers believe factory fitted optional extras are modifications! :o). Whilst the insurer can't void your insurance if you fail to declare something, unless you intentionally mislead them and/or they would not have offered insurance had they have known, they can pro-rata any payout based upon what they would have charged had they known everything (according to the Ombudsman's service's technical bulletin).

Ah rite lol me being dull then, I did it on the phone so it wouldn't have made a difference when I told her then lol

Mine is £650 fully comp. 21 years old, 3 points, 3 years NBC. But I live in the middle of nowhere and it is based off your postcode and crime rates.
