Candy White or Pacific Blue.....

Featured Replies

I recently placed the order with the lease car company for a Greenline Elegance Estate and am waiting to confirm the details with the supplying dealer. Only thing is I'm in a bit of a quandary when it comes to the colour. Since it's a lease car I'm sticking with one of the two free colours, so it's a choice of Candy White or Pacific Blue.

If I choose white then I'll be giggling for the next four years thinking I'm driving a modern day Ghostbusters car

Or I choose blue and spend the next four years referring to the car as the 'Bluperb'

Decisions, decisions....

Hi,

I've just got a superb estate (170TD elegance in metallic black), it is a lease company car.

When ordering, the lease company said metallic colours were same cost per month as solid colours - due to higher resale prices at lease end.

Maybe you could ask the question?

You will love the car whatever colour - had mine 2 weeks, done 2200 miles including 250 miles non stop, they are so comfortable!!

Cheers

Chippy Tea, what do you think to the comfort of the seats?

Def Candy white, A chap at work has a lease Superb in Pacific Blue and it looks cheap and ordinary, really spoils the car, even worst when I park my Metallic grey next to it, which in my opinion looks more executive,

My Candy White hatch is a couple of months old and has only been washed once (sad but true) and it still looks great out there in the pouring rain.

These things are personal opinions but I think the blue could be a bit depressing.

I had a Suberp Combi in Storm Blue, exchanged it this March for a Candy White one. Quite simply I love it. I have had so many comments on how good it looks. Suprisingly it does't show the dirt as much as the Storm blue. Prior to delivery I had the Thermisto Alloys powder coated in Anthracite and the Calipers painted red. With the privacy Glass and Panoramic Roof it looks really nice. I have now done 13000 miles in it and I am really happy. :hi:

Pacific Blue. White is a biatch to keep clean and statistically, blue cars are involved in fewer accidents AFAIK.

I think white cars are surprisingly easy to care for -my Fabia is Pacific Blue and the paint is really soft and marks easily other than that it's a very non descript colour, that doesn't stand out too much.

Well I've had my Pacific Blue one 3 weeks and everyone remarks what a nice colour it is, unless they are just being polite of course.

I like it though.

Candy White. End of.

mandp,

I have read some of the threads on this forum about the leather seats in particular being hard and uncomfortable, and was a bit worried as I do 40k miles with job.

It took me around 3-4 days to get the seat in exactly the right position for me, and until I did it was horrible. However, now I have the chair just right for me it is great - I drove non-stop from Sheffield to Stirling last week and felt fine when I arrived.

So far (early days!) it is one of the most comfortable cars I've driven - though not as good as SWMBO's Nissan Murano - downside is that it makes petrol disappear like magic!

Cheers

Thanks Chippy.

I know what you mean about setting up the seat...the permutations are endless. Perhaps I've still not got it quite right way for me. I'll keep at it!

Lease company said I can have metallic paint...at a cost...so bearing in mind the Fenland winter mud I've decided on Pacific Blue. Might get lucky on the delivery date and see it before Christmas so I'll put up some pics when it turns up.

Good choice. White is for fridges

As I believe I said at the Brighton Conference, Mafia Black is the ONLY choice.

For a touch of class and distinction, Steel Grey is the sophisticated man's choice!

I agree.

Nah...Rosso is the way to go.

All these are old men's colours. Since I went with Mafia Black, my coolness has trebled, my machismo quadrupled and nubile molls throw themselves at my feet, begging me for a ride.

Quoting from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telford#Demography

"Telford has a younger than average population, and a higher rate of teenage pregnancy than the national average....."

All caused by you in your young man's nubile molls motor?! :smirk:

Not ALL of them.

I have a pacific blue. It does show dirt and minor scratches easier than my previous silver car.

However, I preferred an "ordinary" low key colour at first place, something that would not stand out. Just like a normal family car.

And I'm satisfied with the result!

Personally I would never buy a Pacific blue car, about 90% of taxis around my way are Pacific Blue Octavias and they don't look great, I would have gone white. In my case I bought my car and went for Petrol Blue and I absolutely love it. It changes so much depending on sun light. It goes from a turquoise blue to almost black. I also got a frat deal which saw metallic free.

Isn't it "petrel" blue, as in the sea-bird?
