VAT free deals end on Friday (according to dealer)

Featured Replies

Went to price a new Octy vRS today in Glasgow.

A TSi DSG with 2 grand worth of options was coming in at £19,9000. They offered me £17,100 on my CRV, on which I still owe £17,600, and on the 3 year PCP deal with Skoda paying £500 deposit it was working out at £440 per month, and I think the GFV was £8k, not 100% sure on that tho.

I never haggled, the dealer seemed adamant that was the deal on offer, however he did reckon that the VAT free deal wasn't being extended into the fourth quarter and as Friday was the last working day of the month, it had to be completed by Friday for me to get the offer.

I just wondered if anyone else has heard that? I don't believe it for a minute, and as I'm not in a hurry to buy a new Octy (5% of me wants to wait until the new Rapid vRS is launched, however I have a feeling that may be 2014), I certainly won't be accepting their first offer. I don't know if it's expecting too much but I reckon there'll be at least another grand of haggling left in my CR-V.

DFS sale ends this weekend also :dull:

I'm sure I read somewhere that skoda had already said they would only ever make the vrs in fabia and octavia.

Also, try ingrams in Ayr. Just call them and at if they can knock £500 off Henry's then you'll buy from them. They can get quite close to drive the deal normally.

Yip, I've bought 3 vRSs from them before (and one from Henrys in Glasgow). I tried Henrys first as they have a Honda dealership so hoped I'd get a better price for the CRV. Now I have a rough idea what it's worth I can hopefully use that to my advantage at Ingrams.

Have also had a look at my options, ditched things like sunroof and heated seats, and went for white and is now coming in at just over £18k VAT free. Keeping the sports alcantara trim though with the red stitching, believe it or not it's that tiny detail that wetted my appetite in the first place.

And I agree, if Skoda still haven't decided for a Rapid vRS, then there is every chance there won't be one.

The dealers don't know the details of the next campaign (or whether it will be carried over or not) until the day it starts so he's either strangely well informed or just pushing for the sale. ;-)

and the website states it ends on the 30th September not this Friday.

Given the model is on runout. I'd expect the deals to keep getting better, not worse. However choice of options may continue to diminish.

I was told that the VAT deal would end on the 30th Sep and got a call the other day saying that is also now the deadline for factory orders for the vRS too.

I personally believe that may well be the dealer pushing the hard sale. Obviously I may well be wrong.

Drive the deal is coming in at almost £1300 less with around 2k of options. I found Henrys were expensive when I went for mine. I got the same car £1700 less at ingrams

If you're not happy don't do the deal, try another dealer. Offers will run up until the built stock is sold. I would imagen if anything the deals getting better.
