Fine work Fubar. There are always amazing deals out there if you look hard enough!

BTW, your forum name perfectly sums up what happened to my FOS alloy! ;-)

lol  I would spend £500 on a run around with a years MOT and 6 months tax and throw her the keys and say tough luck, this could explain why I am single!

I'm a big fan of tyres which protrude further from the rims. It saves a lot of damage from light touches. If you really grind it won't save you, but it keeps the alloy off the gutter the rest of the time.

Ive got a set of winter tyres on steel wheels for sale. They are Nankang snow tyres, only done 2000 miles on them last winter. Ive sold my octavia hence why I have them for sale. I also have a set of wheel trims for them with the skoda badge on them. PM me if you are interested.

Just read the whole thread so ignore my last post!

Thanks anyway! I'm sure someone on here will want them!

Has Mrs Dunc visited Specsavers lately?

In fairness to Mrs D, the first alloy damage was a rock in the road in torrential rain. Number 2 was a parking rub & the Dunlops offer no rim protection. The third was after a long day and crawling in traffic - clipped a central reservation curb - no excuse for that one though!

They do say these things come in threes!

Between us we hadn't damaged an alloy in 27 months since the car was new before that, although I used to do most of the driving at our last place.

Quite looking forward to the 16's. I reckon it will make the vRS even more of a Q car!
