Pd150 fitting issues with standard smic

Featured Replies

My mates furby vrs is having a new pd150 fitted. Does it mate it to the standard 130 pipe work with no issues? Our mechanic is having trouble with the intercooler pipe the goes into the turbo leaking boost. Does a 150 pipe off the turbo need to be fitted?

Cheers

Not 100% sure, but i have seen people talk of the 'red boost pipe' for the PD150 - named so because, you guessed it, its red! Red from factory i might add.

Might be worth googling with that?

On second thoughts, the pd130 and pd150 turbo is the same casing just the internals are different - bigger compressor, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Please let us know your findings :)

Pretty sure the 150's have a larger casing? Which is why gt20 based 150's can be pusher purr her than a gt20 130 turbo.

But anyway, will look into the red pipe, now you mention it I remember reading about it!

Thanks for you help, I'll report back

:)

Pretty sure with the pd150 turbo you have to turn something the other way round otherwiise its a straigr fit. Lots of info if ya search bud.

You're right. The housing needs rotating (called 'clocking') so the outlet is the same as the PD130/KKK. Simply loosen the impeller housing, rotate, and tighten back up i believe :)

Yeah it was clicked around etc, the issue was getting the turbo out 90* silicone wouldn't seat and seal properly.

Turns out the small lugs are bent in so there's play in the joint....replacement pipe = £105!

Should be all done on Monday :)

Cheers for you help

Your standard pipes should work they did on mine I brought the pd150 and it came with the turbo pipe off a 150 but mine just fitted the same
