Yea the big one is the business, I got some really good deals in the model shops in Holland, they happened to be doing specials on some of the below.

A good days shopping

Due to space limitations (by SWMBO) and the increasing size of my collection I've added a few more shelves (so 4 now becomes 8).

I made up the shelves myself, a couple of lengths of 10mmX10mm in the shape of an L, some bolts, and some of these Cable 'P' Clips from Maplin .

I couldn't think of a way to support the shelf on the upright bars but a flash of inspiration came to me when I seen them in a machine at work while chatting to a collegue. Finally the glass shelves, to my neighbour who sorted me out with the Glass, First Glass is his company (in Ireland), I have to plug it as he realllllllly looked after me .

Don't mind the blue pads (they just came with the glass to protect it), I'm getting clear button ones to prevent the glass touching the metal.

I also put in the second light (moved the original one from the middle) & put the two of them towards the front.

Don't mind the arrangment of the cars, I just quickly put a few on each shelf to see how it looked.

Thats it alright. The light came as a twin pack, the cable split into 2 (I didn't realise it at the time )

Extremely cheap considering the amount of toughened glass in it.

I thought the postman tried deliverying it yesterday (Collection letter left at the house). Went down first thing this morning 7:30am before work, but it was one of the rallycar collection. Gutted

IMO what you need are those little MR16 low voltage lamps in 10w clipped to a vertical wire system. Then you can put the light just where it is needed (at each level) just like the jewellers do. shouldn't be too dear either.

The single lights are not made anymore- official line is very little stock worldwide. Should be back but looking at well into the new year. Now try and tell that to all the customers looking for the single ones! Two Packs are still kicking about. At least it works O.K for you in the two pack, I've never recommended the 2-pack with just 1 light as your left with a lot of cable!

They are cost saving- producing 1 colour of light, black IIRC, then adding silver and white covers in both single and 2 packs to save money.

I got the Jordan on Saturday, nice birthday present for myself

Attached pictures show it completed, all models (which I have so far) in place.

I only used 1 light out of the twin pack since I got the cabinet, I taped up the other connector and cable ties hidden on the back of the cabinet (attached to the sticky back cable tie holders). I thought having only the one light so close to the back might darken everything below with the new higher shelf (Jordan car would block the light). I think it looks good now.

I doubt I could fit any more shelves in, I'll just have to squeeze em in btw I think theres about 60 cars in total in the rally car collection, I'm half way...there'll be plenty of squeezing.
