So yeah some scumbag keyed my car...

Featured Replies

I discovered yesterday that someone has done a good key job to my rear driver side door and was wondering if anyone knows any good bodyshops around the Carlisle area? Also does anyone have any ideas how much this could cost? Its a real deep 2ft scratch. (pic attached)

ouch, b*strds.

Hi, being at the other end of the country I can't really advise repair wise on your locality. This is an awful thing to suffer and in some cases it can be necessary to repair/repaint the entire area, which to be fair isn't cheap. However a localised solution may be possible and I'd advise some visits to local body shops to obtain comparative prices & also consider the mobile repair option ;)

B@stards, should be strung up

Hope you get it sorted.

Hope you get it sorted.

Any idea why someone did this??

This can be Tidied up with a professional machine ;)

The scrotes keep doing my t5 workvan, hope you get it sorted cheap

Not if it's through to the primer/metal.

Jealous bast rds. Hope something bad happens to them.

FFS, really ****es me off this.

Sorry to heat this mate, were you parked anywhere near CCTV?

I'm not that far from Carlisle, about an hour (in cumbria) but can ask around.

What a set of ba*****s - This thing really ****es me off...

Unfortunately its those people who cant afford a decent car or get credit due to taking out contract phones and then selling them for money and never paying the bill = **** credit rating.

This happened to my mate and he used T-Cut which fixed it slightly... Not too sure what you could do re paint job..

Ar$e holes hope u get it sorted or find the little $hit$

hi sean2390

they are the scum of the earth, my astra got done years ago, i at the time managed to get a nail polish identical to the colour of the car and it never rusted. hope you catch the people involved.

Last year i had my window smashed on my 4x4 i had only had it 2 weeks from the showroom new window was £200 anyways as they smashed the window and lent through i had deep scratches all down my drivers door i managed to get a colour matched paint pen from halfords fill the scratches with paint then blended with some good abrasive t wax and an electric buffer with good results.

Well I've told the police and they have nothing to go on, but I'm sure its one of my neighbours with an inclin' of which one but the fuzz don't go on suspicions.

I know the feeling all too well, I had my window put in on the MX5 because I went for a drive with this guys sister and he didn't like it. Safe to say I don't talk to her anymore if that's what's going to happen, and he was a waste of space arsehoIe.

Worst of it was, police knew him and was like "you would be better off to let this drop, if we talk to him, he might come and do it again."

Seriously!

Anyway yeah, your paintwork looks pretty sore, if its right through to the primer/metal it's a spray job I'm afraid, it could cost between 100-200 depending on which place you take it to. Make sure it's someone with a bit of experience and reputation, cause colour matching can be a bugger, and metallic silver is the bane of a painters life. Make sure you are happy with the results and look at it in broad daylight.

Good luck!

PS, remove their hand but leave their genitals, just to remind them that from now on, you can look, but can't touch! ;)

I'm always super paranoid about it, so Many jealous, filthy people living by me... If I'm leaving it somewhere it either has to be directly under a camera or in sight from where I am :/ but everything is within walking distance of my house so going to town isn't too bad. pain in the bum when it comes to parking elsewhere but it seems to work ... Takes ages to find a space lol

If it is a recurring problem, it is possible to fit an alarm which will beep when people get close to the car, i.e. proximity sensor. However, they would also go off in heavy rain, and probably annoy people into scratching your car further. A further possibility is to use such a sensor with a mobile phone text messaging pager, which means you would be sent a text by the car, and the car would not beep. You could then rush outside with your baseball bat etc.

Unfortunately I don't think you can win in this situation. They can't have nice things, so noone else can.
