Superskoda Lights problem

Featured Replies

I have some superskoda interior dome LED lights.

on the way to work this morning they were all flashing at random times, not due to bumps in the road, as they flashed when stationary too.

has anyone else had this, or know of something I can do to fix the flashing? Would a resistor or diode in the power cable stop this?

Cheers

Nobody else has this problem then?

When ever I've always had led bulbs flash on me at random times its always means they're buggered.

As above flashing leds normaly means its about to die

If I understand... In theory there should be no power to the lights when they do this?

In my opinion then, they shouldn't flash. Unless there's cunning circuitry embedded somewhere with a capacitor.

The car has leakage current through it all the time, and this is whats causing the LEDs to flash. You sometimes see the same effect in your home at night with low energy bulbs, in complete darkness you can sometimes see them flash slightly despite having no power applied. Normal bulbs do not respond fast enough for this to be a problem, as the filament never gets hot enough to think about flashing.

A flashing LED with no power applied is sure sign of a poorly made one, or one that is failing internally. Superskoda have been both praised and slated on here for their products, and I for one would not buy aftermarket LED's from them.

Thanks guys, last night i noticed that the door puddle lights flicker at the same time as the dome light.

I know superskoda have had good and bad praise for products etc, but didnt expect £56 worth of leds to be a tiny board with sticky foam on it!

I might bung a diode in-line to take another 0.7V, which hopefully should stop the flickering :S

Mine used to flash very quickly whenever the wipers would go...

I think for they price they are it's a complete rip off!
