Fabia Vrs Oil Fix

Featured Replies

That's 18 months old - hardly relevant today.

Here is an update of stats from Briskoda members reports: -

Oil breather mod fitted but failed to fix problem (the majority went on to have engine replacements)  -   31 cases

Oil breather mod fitted but result pending (or outcome unknown)   -   9 cases

Oil breather mod fitted and result positive (the resultant oil usage was acceptable to the person concerned)  -  1 case

The saga continues.

NB. Vicky's story was particularly sad.

  • The vrs won't have the oil in the system long enough for it to do any damage

  • As someone who fought and won against Skoda.... Twice, you need to keep on at them! I rejected my car after it had 4 new engines in 2 years (they admitted there was a problem) so I'm happy to help you

  • Rag it to the redline on a regular basis from day 1 of ownership and its less likely you'll have issues. End of. Mine runs super sweet with no oil problemo "running in" this way hehe. When I sell it I

More interesting stats from you Big Sheep and those are the ones we know about.

Agree Vicky's case was very sad, as she is a very optimistic  person, who had her loyalty and faith shattered as well as he bank balance.

However, still stayed with Skoda, as her dealers experience was at least positive.

Hi,

I've just logged on after months away from this forum and noticed my case has been the hot topic. No person should go through what I did and my case is completely relevant, the engine is still the same today as was in my 11 plate car. I wouldn't touch the VRS with a barge pole but my Monte Carlo is fine, albeit not as fun or fast to drive. Happy to offer help as I had issues with engine stamping (I didn't believe the story I was given).

My 11 plate car is now on its 4th engine at only 2 years old!!!! I ended up becoming friends with the guy at the garage as a result of all my problems and he told me.

Wow, 4th motor... unbelievable!!! Maybe they were rotating the same two engines? ;)

All true! The car had 4 engines in 2 years!! The third blew up in a matter of weeks of being replaced!!! Despite all the problems my local garage were absolutely faultless.

I can't help but wonder where the car is now (if it's still alive). It was an awesome car to drive and I'm envious of those who have one without problems.

Haha the long lost Jabozuma is back! :-)

Where did you disappear? Good to see you back on the forum.

Crept out from under my stone finally and decided Briskie has sufficiently recovered from the ordeal of me roaming the boards and I can torture you all afresh again ;)

Vicky,

Glad to hear your Monte is going well.

Hi Keith,

It didn't start well I must admit. The car and I are friends for now. For all the vrs's problems..... I loved that car.

I feel your pain, I enjoyed mine very much prior to changing it early 2012
