auto close windows

Featured Replies

hi all ,

it might be on here already if it is sorry guys .

ive been told that my windows shut by holding lock button on remote ???

my car is 2005 plate and fabia vrs .

can anyone tell me if this is possible as ive tried but dont work ????

can i have this programed into car ??

Nope doesn't work via remote.

It will work if you hold the key in the lock position when locking the car via key.

Yep, Only if you put the key in and hold it in the lock position will they close on the Fabia.

However holding the lock/unlock button on the remote will close/open all the windows on an Octavia.....which is probably why there is confusion.

True but only after enabling it using vcds, dunno if its possible doing it to a fabia

Nope one of the many features that aren't available on the Fabia, also can't do coming home lights.... Unless you have a circuit board made up by Korban ;)

My Octavia could do it from new.....but it is an L&K, so maybe they come with it as standard.

I've had a bit of a play around with my Fabia using VCDS, and I don't think its possible.....a lot of the Octavia coding options do not seem to be available on the Fabia...certainly there is no option to adjust the trip computer accuracy like I did on my Octavia......although curiously I was able to adjust the volume of the reversing sensors on the Fabia in VCDS!

Why the need for windows that open/close on the remote?

Why the need for door locks to open/close on the remote? No actual need, but its handy.

On a hot summers day its very handy to open all the windows on the remote before you get in....takes the edge off the hot interior.

In summer when the car has been sat in the sun it's a godsend lol

Also if a passenger leaves a window open without you realising till you're walking away, instead of having to walk back just press the button lol

I find it easier to get stuff in and out of the car too without having to open the doors. Esp. useful at uni with the narrow spaces. :)

I'd thought about this before, and here's an extract from a message I got back on the subject from a fellow Briskodian who knows his stuff;

Up&down windows with the fob is almost the Holy Grail. It can be done but it involves different software that you can buy from a bloke in Eastern Europe, an old laptop, a serial port cable, some jiggery pokery, and a very good knowledge of VAG vehicle programming.

So, in short, it's do-able, but not easy. HTH.

I programmed Raf_'s car to do the remote windows.

I have done it so far on my cordoba, 2x Ibiza FR TDI's, an Ibiza TDI and Raf_'s octy vrs.

I have tried on a Fabia vRS but the CCM was coded differently and couldn't figure out the coding that needed to be changed.

I have huge lists of all different CCM's and the coding that needs changing but the Fabia didn't match up to any of them even though it has the same CCM part number as all the Ibiza's and my car that I've done succesfully.

It requires VDS pro and a Serial cable BTW... which I have.

Phil

Our Fabia MKII Vrs windows go up and down by holding the buttons on the remote

So yes it does work on a Fabia, but only a MK2

My furby has an aftermarket toad alarm and the guy that fitted it enabled auto-close with the alarm key fob that locks the central locking and arms the alarm. I'm sure as Phil says above it's just something that needs coding in somewhere!

ive been told that it can be done ,

but i have to change something under dash on drivers side ??

They're probably referring to one of the Autowindows KVW100 modules that plugs into the OBD port and does the thing philje described above (changes the coding on your CCM). They work on Leons and the Golf Mk4 platform, but they then lock the CCM so you can't communicate with it to find fault codes etc (quite clever really as otherwise you could just read the new coding off and do it yourself). I'm not aware of them working on the Polo/Fabia/Ibiza range though.
