The reason you baught your fabia?

Featured Replies

I bought one because I wanted something diesel, black and with enough power to tow a kayak trailer or a couple of sailing dinghies.

After test driving I found it perfect. Until I found out you can't tow with one. By this time it was too late to turn back, so just decided that I would get someone else to do the towing, and just carry one kayak on the roofbars.

Live and learn huh?

Bought mine..well the wifes..

Because i won a PPI claim!

Long story..but went direct to the bank, and got 2.6k back.

Was going to BT my stage 2 cupra R,fit rods..but thought it was a bit selfish when the wifes..

$hite citreon clutch started slipping..so though of something VAG,good on fuel,etc..

Looked a couple of ibizas,1.9tdi,then found a minty mint,modded..black 06 for 2.5k.

Happy? like a pig in $hit...LOL

I wanted a small hachback to replace what I had.

I decided either Mini Cooper, Fiesta TDCI or Furby vRS. I've explained in other threads why I didn't buy the other 2, so bought a Fabia.

Also my mother bought a Silver Fabia TDI a year earlier, which helped my decision. I've had it for 6 years and still happy with it, I have no idea what I'd replace it with, if I had to.

I bought mine because:

It was the only performance car that I could afford the insurance for ;)

reliability, economy and performance.

underestimated by most drivers especially corsa chavs :p

plenty of aftermarket options

and I like a good under dog!

I was on a tight budget for something Polo like (having driven a 6n2 for 2 years prior), Ideally looking at around £3k for a car then insurance on top of that, didn't really want one at first and saw my mate selling his, first for £1500, then £1400 and then down to £1200, for a laugh I thought I'd get an insurance quote, miles cheaper than a lower specced Polo with the less powerful 75bhp 1.4. Full history on it and low miles, only downfall is that it was down in Market Harborough, it was a Monday and I knew someone with cash ready was going to look at it on the Thursday, spoke to the parents, got a lift down there with my dad on the Wednesday, got it insured and drove it back. So car bought and insured for less than £3k which was initial budget for just the car!!

I was driving an integra dc2 type r..but was travelling around 1400 miles a month so it was costing abit! Although the teg wasnt too bad on fuel it waa still costing me £300/350 a month.

So i needed a nice sporty diesel and it was between the leon cupra tdi or the fabia vrs and at the time i got a good deal on a fabia!

Love it now..although i ordered coilovers the day i got it home as it was abit like a beach buggy lol
