Indeed. :D How are the standard pads? I mean compared to running smaller discs with DS2500s? From memory of blatting Col's car around the Brunter's test track, it stopped REALLY well, even on standard discs/pads. :)

can't comment. only had DS's fitted.

Drove my sisters TT, nearly put us through the windscreen when i progressed with the normal pressure i use in my car, so yes i would say they are pretty hot

Why dont you ask Octy vRS owners how the brakes are with oem pads?

Mine are great!! Much to the dismay of the Merc driver who bounced off the back of my car 2 night ago :finger:

No damage though - to mine anyway :P

Well, a couple of years back I felt the power of a vRS on standard brakes, well apart from the DS3000 pads that is. Jon. You remember that brake setup right? Never felt a car of any kind, that I've been in, stop as fast!

(and obviously brake pads are something I can uprate later)

Quickly tell me why, please! ;) Is it just the pads?

pads and fluid..

oh and dont skimp on cheapass discs either... im just about to fit my 2nd set after brunters last year shafted them :(

I reccomend you get a pair of ATE discs from eurocarparts.

DONT get cheap generic discs or DS2500s will destroy them quickly.

or if you want some cheap Pagid fast road pads to suit... PM me ;)

Why don't you like the Pagid pads, or did they come with that deal you did over on cupranet a while back? Pagid were recommended by Awesome GTI who I spoke to a little while ago. You never know. ;) If I get some discs it'll most likely be VAG OEM ones. :)

edit: Which fluid BTW? I have super dot 4 I think in mine at the moment - and may as well flush through with some good stuff while I'm at it. I have a fair bit of super dot 4 left over too.

yes, they are the same.

Superdot 4 is one to go for... which still isnt infallable (im on my second fill of that too - blame Anglesey :D )

Yeah - mine cooked up a few times there. Might be overdue for a reflushing anyway, even without the bigger brakes going on.

Dot 5.1, Ebc Turbogroove disks, Ebc greenstuff pads works well for me
