Citigo S ASG. Testdrive. ! Has anyone driven one?

Featured Replies

Went into my most local dealer since not heard back from Skoda UK or Dealer on a test drive.

But it was only Friday that i filled in the form.

(so a call or email will be coming i would hope.)

It is however 2-3 months since i asked in 3 different dealers about letting me know when a Automatic Citigo might be available & left my number & details.

So i went into my local dealer today, but the Main Sales executive was not in the slightest interested in my interest in driving an Automatic Citigo.

Now this is a Dealership that i have already bought 2 cars in for 'Cash Money'.

I said it would be a 5 door, just an 'S' ASG in red with no extras.£8500 (£9000 or there abouts if not red or white).

He could not care less,

he said he has supplied 2 ASG Citigos and i can get one ordered today.

I made him check.

Red, 'S' with ASG & no extras, 13-15 weeks, January 2013. 'He says'.

I told him when i can drive one i will see what i think, & i can not order without seeing if i like it.

'Call me when you want it', was his answer.

The wait goes on and thats the 3 nearest Dealerships, owned by the same Company that will not be supplying my Citigo.

?? Has anyone driven a Citigo ASG yet please?

george

Probably wasting my time, but was looking for a replacement for a Picanto.

My vRS probably did as good economy in the 20 miles home from the dealers as the Citigo with ASG will do.

& that can be bettered going faster on better roads.

Am awaiting notification from my local dealer that he has one I can drive. He has supplied a couple and has driven them. He mentioned no creep and no PARK position and "it's fine when you get used to it".

If I don't fall in love with the ASG I'll look more closely at the Suzuki Swift SZ4 5 door torque converter automatic. It is well specced and costs £9798 (from DtD) plus metallic if required.

Can't wait to get rid of the Hyundai i10 automatic personally but I managed to get a free second service out of them (just had the first year's free one) and I did go to the expense of reversing sensors and All Season tyres so really ought to keep it another year. Plus the fact that the wife actually likes it so there's no rush to drive the ASG Citigo really - but am curious.

Yes, sounds like you are wasting your time George. Buy something else. Maybe another mk2 Fabia VRS if they are so good on fuel.

Cheers,

its not really for me to drive, just need to like it if i am.

(& it needs to be able to take some abuse from somebody thats mind might not be on their driving more on shoes.)

Peter Picanto is not going anyplace, needed this weekend for when the snow arrives.

Just got a nice phone call from a young & very helpful salesperson that prepared to go the extra mile.

That means we can get a roadtest in a couple of weeks and thats in a SE.

Faith back in at least one of their sales team.

I see VW have been selling the UP automatic so perhaps they have some for test drives?

Re.No Park position. In my Smart which has the same type of auto box,if you leave the lever in R reverse, this is the same as P park. The car will not move with the engine off even with the handbrake off,so perhaps the Citigo is the same.
