I have had a egr delete for ages and the two pipes what go to the egr from the vacuum box i just put to screws in them I am after making it look a bit nicer than to dirty screws looking at you

2 10mm bolts in mine.

You could fold over and zip tie

Pop rivet and a cable tie on my old fabia

people used golf tee, I used wall plug and insulation tape

I'd suspect leaving it open could have an unbalancing effect on the other pipes into the vacuum box. I put a bolt into the pipe.

Mine was leaking and I lost boost low down and it didn't really come on boost till 3k
