Why not contact the dealership/salesman and ask them to switch it over?

Deine FL time line I'm a bit lost

The " friendly " dealership will, of course sell me the maxidot for around 650 quid!!!!!! But sorry wont fit it to the FL. I want this feature, there's gotta be someone out there with the know how ???

VAG no longer supply the required SKC's with 2009 and newer cars, the only way to change a facelift cluster is at a dearler since its all done online to Skoda HQ in CZ. The problem will be finding a dealer to do the switch, since its not normal practice and most do not know it can be done.

You can get the cluster from skodateile http://www.skodateile.cz and the dealer once you have found one can swap it for you, although they currently are not listing the facelift cluster.

If I were in the market for a new car I wouldn't pick maxidot but just buy vcds. I'm tryin to persuade my vag mates to go in together so we can get one cheap and share

Gentlemen,

We did a few more miles (6,000 in total) on our 4 week touring holiday through Mittle Europe/The Balkans, than I had anticipated, so we needed a service, since we were near enough the Czech Republic we simply swung through on our otherwise unplanned homeward route, found a dealership and booked her in.

It must be said I do feel quite smug :giggle: when I blythly mention taking the car the Czech for a service.

PS

I did try :wall: to book her in at the factory when we visited, but whilst they have a Service Bay and DO service cars, only for VIP's from the reaction we got with our travel weary Octavia.

Cos I did want to say we took her back to the factory to get it done right.

cheers

Marcus

dieseldogg,

so you pootled around Balkans and then had the car serviced and maxidot retrofitted in Czechland on your way home. I told my wife this and now she wants to go not as far as Balkans but definitley to Czechland and I need service number 2 and MOT at year end. Of course, MOT will have to be done here. Did you pay in euros or Koruna and I presume credit card was acceptable.

Apologies, I did not get Maxidot retrofitted, I merely got the car serviced.

The future son in law has got that VCDS thinngy so he can configure anything I want.

But as mentioned somewhere above once one has a very few items sorted to ones satisfaction, no need.

I would like to (i) disable that bloody foot on the brake before selecting gear protocol.

(ii) allow one to extract the key while the selector is in neutral.

But would not wish to risk invalidating my 5 year warranty deal.

cheers

marcus

I can code in all these changes if you're in the south west. :)

Taking my VCDS to Weston meet this weekend in case anyone going there wants stuff fettled.

Just dun my greenline one click all doors open gr8, also lock all doors upon driving off nice Maxidot rules
