Folding mirrors?

Featured Replies

I recently saw a post on here ( can't find it now tho ) about someone fitting folding mirrors to the FL octy vrs. They seem to come on most vw's so surely they can be retrofitted, any ideas anyone?

I have them on my one but specced them when I ordered the car

Hush you, ya feckin show off :moon:

good luck retro-fitting folding mirrors oem style!!

either u have it, or u don't as the wiring looms r different.

ireland & nz spec vrs gets them.

aus & uk spec vrs don't get them. i'm sure there r more that don't get it either.

all l&k gets them.

go figure!!

I had retro fitted folding mirrors on my Octavia last year..

My car is a 1.8tsi ambient.

You don't need to change the wiring looms or anything, but the door modules and the base plates of the mirrors and the mirror control switch.

It's quite an expensive mod !! And if you don't really need them avoid them as the right hand side one doesn't even fold as much (and I have checked it s a standard skoda thing)

The main problem if cost is not a factor is figuring out the correct door module because there are literally a million revisions as well as the min, max modules that support separate functions.. It would be ideal to therefore to find a car with folding mirrors from the factory and then order those modules specifically to the exact revision.

Do these work ilogically like on Audis? i.e. they fold in when you're stopped (and you could fold them in manually), but not when you're meeting white van man head on and at speed on a narrow lane?

The mirror adjusting switch in the car has a "fold" position for the mirrors if that is what you mean?

Yup,

That's how they work,

Fold out at any speed

But not in...

Also the right hand side one doesn't fold in as much as the left hand side one ...

Don't get that logic !
