on saturday i put up on stands and got to work

C866B561-EBBF-44DE-B4E1-FF377AE95A73_zps

i think this picture was taken when i had 3 pipes left on the turbo and then it was coming out and i decided that i was in no rush and really just couldn't be bothered to keep going especially as i was trying to work in between doing the turbo so i left it to Monday, went in Monday after work to finish it off got it straight out

few cracks found in the hot side

so now the plan is to drop of the turbo this weekend to to have a new hot side and be made hybrid :) i need a couple other bits to add to the car to make the power it should and also a few other changes i fancy doing :)

How easy/difficult is this to remove? I want to paint mine but wasn't sure how difficult it is to take off.

Its not too hard, having a ball end alan key set makes to easier to remove the main manifold bolts and remember the support bracket under the manifold. Where i have done all the deletes and simplifications it makes taking the manifold off a lot easier

Excellent and thanks for the tip!

Gonna have to put that one on hold as my front passenger door lock and window mechanism started playing up yesterday and the heated rear screen wouldn't work this morning

Got this picked up over the weekend :D

Was going to start fitting it through this week but have been ill, so finishing work and just going home rather than staying late, will get it on as soon as I am better!

so started getting the turbo back in this week, need one more washer for one of the oil/coolant pipes as i didn't get enough haha

even though i looked over the exhaust manifold before i thought it was all good, i dont know what was wrong with me that day but i looked over it again on thursday to find 3 nice cracks in it, new manifold needed  :wall:

so Boss Fox came to the rescue with another exhaust manifold :D thanks Richard!! real life saver

went to do some more fitting up as i had also been waiting on a coolant line washer as i ordered one short in the first place, then found this

AFD078C5-4136-433C-A46D-ABC85E719D67_zps

the thread doesn't seem to have a start to it and wont screw in, another ordered and should be here tomorrow but it was £17!!!!

once thats here i can get it fully put together other than the turbo intake, i want an SFS oversized 70mm one but they only seem to do them in black :(

Feel ya pain, I put 3 new bolts on mine the other day, cost £27!

Its more annoying as without this bolt i cant do anything more i hope the parts man at work did order it like i asked him to today or im gonna be fuming!

Think you should get a file out on that and flatten off that taper at the start of the thread. Ought to be rescueable, or best still have you an M10 dye to re-tap the thread.

so time for an update,

turbo and manifold in F6212F22-23CD-4D99-B826-90666A8249D8_zps

while i was doing all this i got a little carried away and decided that it was time for a colour change under the bonnet

54A76689-39FB-4619-83F2-2EC81879A686_zps

left it with the manifold still red to begin with

5C3DA4A0-8A84-4E92-9CA0-D387F36BC543_zps

but as usual i had to wait for more parts so thought i might as paint that while i wait and also as i used a metalic black on the boost pipe and fuse box cover i needed to repaint the intake pipe and while i was doing this i thought i would try a bit of black on the injector rail

all fitted :)

751C8612-4147-4C3E-8C32-B2140BB3A6A1_zps

and then my new 3" oversized turbo intake with correct turbo fitting arrived which was surprisingly easy to fit

8D002358-5BF7-4D8E-9DB2-16255C60CB16_zps

before anyone says its overfilled with coolant! it was fully drained and then only filled up before the picture and not been started yet!

so now all im waiting on is the new map to be sent over to me from shark which will allow me to get round and put some miles on it before i take the trip up to shark to get it all mapped in properly

was really happy with how the car was for a while until it started throwing problems at me again like the window dropping whilst driving at 70mph!

but onward and upward!

next came some graphics as i have been working with Rob at W8 Performance carrying out Shark remaps as Rob is too busy with his normal job

then just some pictures while i was out one night with a mate and his 280bhp fiesta :)

the rear graphics are now off both cars awaiting my new company graphics :)

still a lot more to be done (when are project cars ever finished?!) currently needs a new CV boot on the opposite side to the last one and looking into a fault that i think is an air leak on the intake (will be buying a pressure tester when i get round to it) but its winter so it can just sit in the corner till i can be bothered to sort it

Will try to keep this a little bit more up to date and hopefully get to take it on track soon!
