Haha i can make up plate at work but none of my cars take a normal set of plates any more! Octavia takes small front and normal rear and range rover takes normal front massive rear! Stupid cars whats the point of being in the motor trade when you cant even get a free set of plates hahahaha

Free ramp on weekends? Sayin that its more agro than its worth using works ramps, I miss payin me mate £20 a time for a ramp when I lived in essex

The range rover is a major hassle to even get on our ramps at work as it only just fits in and has retractable side steps that go over the jacking points and the octavia doesn't go on any of the ramps properly only just on one but i have had to make up blocks to fit it on lol

I use to have 2 lengths of decking in my boot in my previous coilover'd cars. When we have the alfa 4c in its a nightmare, have to go on mot ramp to remove under tray then we had to buy dollies to jack it up to get on a 2 poster. Nice cars tho

Just looking at an early post on the thread to do with wiring and just wanted to know if anyone can help with the following:

Just ordered a new double din head unit for the car which comes with a hands free microphone and was wondering what the best way to route the cable is and what you think is the best position (I was thinking the drivers side pillar).

Also are the fixings and adapters for the MK4 Golf suitable, heard the ones stated for the Octavia are for the MK2.

Parts I think I need are as follows:

Fascia Adapter FP-17-00

Aerial Adapter PC5-90

Removal Keys PC5-93

Male to Femal ISO Harness PC2-36-4

Found this on eBay http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=301557759568

All feedback and any other hints and tips for fitting will be greatly appreciated

So... as promised ive started on the new vRS so thought i best start the project thread before it all runs away with me..so got this yesterdayimagejvp.jpgwas looking really dirty.. but underneath the dirt for a 9 year old car with 104000 on the clock i think i found a gem body work is really good except for a dent in the O/S/R wheel arch and a dent in the O/S/F door other than that it has been really well looked after with a full folder of receipts from the previous owner and full main dealer service history. Its already had the wheels refurbed in anthracite, it has a green filter, Rear Parking sensors, Bluetooth that did not work, Upgraded stereoso inbetween having a visit from Gee (Gee@W8performance) in his amazing octy making me want more stuff already i managed to give it a half decent clean and put some new number plates onimagexxi.jpgamazing how much better a car can look with just a new set of plates! So today i decided to take the wires out that was coming out on top of the dashimagedibr.jpgand then get the bluetooth workingimagegzw.jpgWhey!imagekaf.jpgTurns out the wires had just come disconnected at the stereo but was a pain trying to figure out what wire was what!and then i went into the garage to get a tool and heard "no! What are you doing get out of his car!" i walk back outside to find thisimagepgz.jpgStupid dog!as you can see in that picture above i did start to run my amp cable but then decided to change it to the other side so i finished off running them cablesand then i started with the LEDsimagepqz.jpgimageukay.jpgive got to order some more 501 LEDs to replace the interior one thats broken and for sidelightsMore to come pretty soon!

Best way to do a mic would be up the drivers A pillar and then above the headlining to the interior light there is a grille in that unit thats for mic, facia i think the mk4 golf kit is right but dont know as have never fitted one, what radio have you got, lloyd will probs be best with suggestions for fitting kits/facia's

Stereo is a JVC KW-V20BT unit.

Didn't know about the interior light being suitable to fit it, won't that muffle the sound though?

What's the best way to route the cable from the back of the unit to the drivers A pillar?

Should be fine thats where i always put my mics and go along the bottom of the dash, remove the trim panel above the pedals and put the wire up there pass the fuse box and into the a pillar

Enjoyed this thread!

What's the best way to remove the A pillar trim without damaging it?

Gently mate is the onky way

Start at the top and lol dare i say give small tugs

Ha

Ha

Ooo eer

Ooh you've made it sound more fun than I was expecting!!

Will it pull away just with fingers or does it need a pry to remove it.

Are the parts I mentioned above the right ones?

Just picked up the stereo and it will be a perfect fit, no fascia required.

Also got the aerial adapter but have been told I won't need an extra wiring harness as this will connect straight to the Skoda cables.

He did say not to connect the blue live wire as this would blow the unit.

Anyone got any extra hints or tips to help out?!

The blue from stereo usually is used for amp remote

And just pull bud, use them fingers

Is that the blue wire that comes out from the aerial adapter?

....also, where does the parking brake cable connect?

so its time to finally get the turbo sorted, it was running out of tax today so its now SORN and sitting in the corner of the drive, will get the trade plates from work next week when im off holiday and take it in put it on stands at the back of the showroom and do bits when i can, and maybe get both rear wheels refurbished too as the paint is flaking off and wont have the money to buy new wheels and a turbo haha

have u got the paint code for ya wheels? If ya get them off and the bead popped I can refurb them for ya with rattle cans as good as a finish ud get with guns, learnt a few tips when I was a smart repairer and since selling my guns and lamps have used cans with same results, its all in the prep and drying it properly (heating the can helps too)
